AJ by not raising his hands to fight on against Ruiz Jr Davies: "I got sixth figures in my bank right now" £100k, half gone to taxes. Yeah you're rolling in it and sorted for life mate.
AJ by not sacking McCracken straight after that fight when McCracken told him nothing in between the rounds of that fight except "use your jab".
Mikey Garcia going up to welterweight when he already had a good thing going at 135. Adrien Broner going up to welterweight when he already had a good thing going at 135. It seems like that's an unnecessary jump to make, from 135 to 147.
Josh Taylor pretending he was going to 147 then working on fighting Zepeda. His own fans are calling him out on his bs.
Vargas when he signed to fight Tito. Was never the same. I wish he had a couple more fights first but hindsight is 20/20…..
Tony Ayala Jr, along those lines. Daniel Dubois didn't do himself any favors in the way he retired against Joyce. If he was hurt, he was hurt, but the delayed reaction to the punch and taking the knee without being punched again just looked weird, and a lot of people sense the irony of his comments about Joyce's mother, and thought "turn-about is fair play." Now he is going to fight the the WBA "regular" belt...boxing's ultimate participation prize.
I give DD the benefit of doubt because I been in a similar situation in sparring, I got hurt in the eye area, tried to to tough it out but after a few seconds the pain was too much and had to quit. That was sparring but I’m not sure I would of been able to continue in a fight either, especially if I got punched there again. Nothing was broken in my case but some muscle around the eye was damaged. Idk, I wait to write him of as now, hope he proves me right, he’s exciting.
Yeah, I said, if he had to quit, he had to, but there are ways and there are ways. He should have waived it off if need be, but as I remember, he dropped on a delayed reaction. I write him off...he isn't that good, and I thought so long before the Joyce fight. I think WBA regular champion is about his ceiling.
This was a Tuesday night fights classic. Watch the whole thing...only last most of round 1. Love that last overhand right! This content is protected
I remember hearing on a pod cast in the last couple years that they let Vargas rush into the Tito fight coz he was a hot head and had legal trouble and they thought if we don't cash out now this dude is likely to go to jail. I can't remember who said it though.
