did you know chuvalo could never get a fight for the british empire championship.henry coopers manager said henry would never fight a mauler like george,he should have been made to fight chuvalo who was always number 1 or very close in the rankings

I think Chuvalo would have beat London and Shavers.

By the early 70's Chuvalo would have had a good chance against a washed up Liston. Liston surely would have soldiered on if not for his untimely death in early 1971. Chuvalo may have very well had the best chin in history. Heck, he even bench presses 450lbs. today from what I read! Shavers, having lost to Ron Stander and Jerry Quarry would have found George an even tougher nut to crack. The Canadian-Croatian strongman knocks out an exhausted Shavers midway through the fight IMO. I think he would be way too strong for Cooper. Heck, after the Foreman fight Chuvalo was livid. "I don't see why the stopped it! I was just getting going!" Chuvalo was amazing.

Don't forget Cobb letting Shaver's bounce his shots off his head until he gassed.

And Cobb wasn't the hitter Chuvalo was.

yes at the age of 70 george can bench press i heard 430 lbs, foreman said he was very strong in that fight.the chuvalo frazier fight is on u-tube he backs frazier up the only other guy to do that was foreman.checkout thaT FIGHT.btw the injury that chuvalo got from the frazier fight,he got a fractured cheek bone in training for it,he knew if joe land a few good hooks there, he'd be in trouble

And Joe did land those hooks.

Chuvalo needed a plate in his face afterwards to keep his eye in it's socket.

OMG he might not even be human. Chuvalo was blessed with superhuman strength and a skull that must be several times denser than the average man. Amazing.

did you ever watch chuvalo vs, dejohn?george beat the hell out of him.he got the fight after ernie terrell back out he took 4,000 bucks plus 25% of the gate with ali fighting the winner.ali backed out after chuvalo beat him so bad,ali was untested at that time in 1963.and chuvalo was way to strong for him at that point

chuvalo was never off his feet in the amateurs, sparring or 93 pro fights, some say bonavena had him down but chuvalo said it was a push not a punch,he also said oscar was a dog talked a good fight but didn't want 1 in the end.chuvalo back in the 50's also had 4 fights in 1 day

I think Liston would stop Chuvalo. But wouldn't take him off of his feet.

I remember reading where Chuvalo was very disappointed in how Bonavena fought in their fight. He said Bonavena was being really dirty in there and did not deserve to get the verdict. Many said if boxing had the rules from the old era where fights went 20 rounds or longer Chuvalo would probably have been undefeated.
