Is it me or has this Dirrell situ got far more mileage than it actually deserved?

The guy has stunk himself off the HBO channel for eternity. I guess Ken Hersman is gripped this Ruiz-Bolt character is in the mix in this tournament.

There have certainly been too many threads about it.

It wasn't even ****ing controversial, just close and dreadfully boring. It's not like Dirrell fought his heart out and got cheated.

I really find it funny how some of the general posters are acting like it's robbery of the decade, asking when was the last robbery this bad, should all Americans boycott Britain from now on and all that ****.

It's been about 4 months since Miguel Cotto beat Josh Clottey, in what is essentially his hometown, by split decision by cards that were a bit wider than they should have been, and people were pissing on about that for about a month, now it's totally forgotten. So it's the worst robbery since, erm, June this year.

It's all forgotten now and so will Froch/Dirrell. Honestly, a hometown fighter took a split decision in a close fight. It's happened before. It's time to simmer down.

I know it sounds a bit apathetic but Froch-Dirrell is in the same "does it really matter?" category as Calzaghe-Manfredo IMHO.

Different scenario's entirely, although I dont think it was any worse then Diaz v Malignaggi. However when its in Britain the yanks will kick up a stink and discredit british boxing as if it never happens in the US. To be fair we do it about Germany too.

I wouldnt even really care about it if Froch just shut up and stopped bigging himself up.

I dont get your reasoning behind that quote GazOC.

The Manferdo fight was viewed as a mismatch from day one, & Calzaghe threw a McDonalds flurry & the fight was stopped early by a "helpul"(ahem) hometown ref.

This is a worldwide tournament, Dirrell boxes Frochs ears off & gets robbed.

Yup, you are sweep sweeping too... Its a brit ESB thang. lets all stick together & if we wish hard enough, this fight will go away.

& the sad thing is, it will. I know Brit ESB forum politics, I been reading way to long...
That doesnt mean Im gonna sit back & watch quietly though as you lot methodically sweep this fight under the carpet cos you are all enjoying being on the Froch bandwagon...

Its gonna be derailed before long though, I wouldnt waste my energy cleaning up Carls mess he left behind if I were you lot;)

Dunky, about 60% of people in the Brit forum thought Dirrell won the fight, but the whole thing has been done to death already. Personally, I would rather move on and talk about other things, for example the great match-up between Rhodes and Moore this Friday :good
