3-fight option is cornerstone of the Kessler-Palle fall-out.

Problem is that Palle cannot get any fights. None of the big names wants Kessler and Kessler don't want clubfighters. It's a catch22.

Quite right, and the main reasons why Palle cannot get any fights is

a: he is notoriously hard/difficult to bargain with. The other promoters can't be bothered with the hassle..
    (Palle is a risk/reward or more like a hassle/reward nightmare as well...)
b: he just doesn't have the big cash-reserve to just pay for the big names...
c: he likes to be the big fish in the little pond, so if there is any indication of him losing control, he shuts like a clam.... which leads back to reason a...

I don't know about your point b. Palle offered Hopkins 4 million dollars to fight Kessler in Copenhagen. Not exactly pocketmoney.

Last I heard Bute was saying he "Wasn't ready yet" for Kessler and if that's what he thought before Andrade, I cant see that shambles boosting his confidence any.

Thought Miranda was fighting at LHW now after giving it the same 'Weight drained' BS after losing to AA that he gave after loosing to Pavlik.

I thought Inkin would be a good match-up for Kessler beore he lost to Balzsay. Balzsay would get the same 'too green' label that Sartison had when Kessler fought him.

Abraham would be a great matchup IMO but would Sauderland not be able to buy of Palle for that?

Abraham or Taylor/Froch seem like the two big fights for Kessler at SMW and in a worst case scenario could wait till early next year, unless they fight each other in the meantime.

I was worried that all the courtroom **** could put him out for years.

How bad would his opponents be this year if Palle got his way? Perdomo as mandatory is a ****ing joke but other than that could he not get at least a Sakio Bika or something.

If they settle their differences outside of court, the best case scenario for Kessler would be Perdomo in June, Larsen in September and Froch/Taylor in november. The first 2 is likely. The third one is more a dream I'd say.

You would think that the way he's going it's bound to hurt him in his quest for power and influence.

It must make other fighters more wary about signing for him.

This god-awfull situation is where it is because Palle (father + daughter) are the promoting part, the managing part and the matchmaking part for Kessler.

They sit on both sides of the table in all negotiations regarding Kessler, so to say.

Palles pride is also a big issue. He seriously thinks that he has "created" Kessler - almost refusing that Kessler is the one winning the fights. Sick.

Palle has been good for Kessler in getting lucrative money deals (Calzaghe) and the unification fight with Beyer. But thats pretty much it.

A large danish interest organisation, dealing with rights for athletes, supports Kessler. This organisation has plenty of political goodwill, a large amount of money and lawyers dealing with this issue now.
They demand that Kessler should be allowed to continue his career simultaniously, no matter what happens with Palle. And they are 100% sure this will be the scenario. Some good news afterall.

Palle is 75 and finished. He's quitting after Kessler's contract expires anyway. Just a grumpy old man.

What is the word in Denmark just now. Do the press expect Kessler to be fighting again this year one way or the other, or won't he be in the ring until all this plays out (or Feb 2010 whichever is first)?

I can offer B-Hop $4 million as you could do...same can Palle, if you know what I mean... :deal

Hell, Palle even tried to screw Beyer for about €1 million. I believe that Palle needed about 6 month to finally handle over all the money.

Palle just talks a lot but can't walk the walk...this isn't about money, just about selfishness and bossiness...

Not having seen the contract, if it's a standard option Palle is right on this one. It's Kessler's own dumb ass fault for not having a lawyer review the contract before he signed it.

He's not saying the Haussler fight didn't happen. He's saying that the options were IN ADDITION TO the Haussler fight (which is how options are standardly interpreted). The options don't include the fight for the contract that contains the options.

If he still has options outstanding, he wouldn't really be a free agent until all the options are used up. Sure, he'd be a promotional free agent and could sign with another promoter, but Palle would still have the option to promote three of his fights.
