There's been a lot of talk recently about the HOF and who deserves it and who doesn't. Plenty of fighters have gotten in because of their achievements outside the ring as well as inside it. However, if you had to take out three professional fighters based on ability alone, who would you get rid of and why?

You must have a reason for making the thread @TNSNO1878. Who would you get rid of and why?

Nah. I’m not going to remove respect from a man who stepped foot in a ring, fought other tough men over and over, while i sit in front of a computer monitor for a living. Ain't right for a soft squishy nerd type to try to take earned respect away from a warrior.

Ray Mancini is the first guy that comes to mind. Barry Mcguigan is another. Gatti too.

These are just off the top of my head. There are many others. The standards of the BoF are abysmally low

I think Gatti kinda deserves to be in the HOF, because he is simply that famous. But Gatti also brings down the bar sooo much that it´s better if the were to be removed.

Rather than remove someone, I would add others. There are several who deserve to be in the IBHOF. Now I'll say three names, Jose Luis Castillo, Joel Casamayor and Acelino Freitas. If Diego Corrales is in the IBHOF, it's right that they are there too in my opinion, they have done no less than Chico in their career.

Barry McGuigan is in the HOF because of one win
Can't stand the guy for how he treated Frampton, but I think he should not be in the HOF, as there are better fighters who don't have his popularity that will never make it

I get it is the hall of fame, not necessarily who is the best fighter, but I wouldn't have him in it

The recent weak entrants of Timothy Bradley and Naseem Hamed immediately spring to mind.

It's also very baffling how Virgil Hill is in the hall, but Dariusz Michalczewski isn't.

The HOF has been around 35 years theres very few fighters in the HOF where its arguable they are a HOFer.

Mancini, Vinny Paz and Gatti are probably the worst 3. But the problem is less that they got in and more that they got in this quick Mancini and Vinny Paz are the kinda guys a veterans committee in the 2300s elects.

Imagine being enough of a stuck up pleb to think Gatti doesn’t deserve to be in the HoF…

Go watch Gatti-Ward while you stuff your face with cheetohs and shut up…

I'd remove Virgil Hill, and replace him with Dariusz Michalczewski, who beat him to unify all the titles at 175.

Several other American boxers like Timothy Bradley are only in the IBHOF because they are American, so they should either change the name to American Boxing Hall of Fame or be fair to boxers from other countries.

Bradleys a no brainer. People don't like his commentary. Hes got no unavenged losses, was never stopped and is 13-2 in title fights with 2 losses to Manny.
