I like Williams and God knows I enjoy his fights a lot more than Dawson's but in no way do I feel it's warranted to have Paul better than Chad on a p4p list. I don't think he's anywhere approaching him even.
The only fighters left for him to beat would be Mosley, Pacquiao, Mayweather, Cotto, Berto. He has already beaten Wright (ATG), Margarito, Martinez. In my opinion his resume is stronger than Berto and Cotto's. I think he should beat Cintron convincingly, then aim for Cotto or a rematch with Martinez/Margarito. If he beats Martinez twice that would seal his ATG status. if He beats Cotto that would seal his ATG status. Honestly he only has to win a few more fights to be considered on the level of Mayweather. And nobody can say he ducked anyone because he beat Margarito in his prime, he beat Martinez in his prime, he beat Wright several weight classes above his normal weight. I don't think he needs a new trainer or more power either, I think because hes 28 years old people expect him to have all the power and technique hes ever going to have, but he has at least 3 more years to peak out. I don't think he will be able to throw 200 punches a round into his 30s. I don't think he will be able to fight like this forever and he probably knows that too which is why he has been becoming more technical and improving in every fight. In the Martinez fight his defense was amazing compared to Pavliks. His technique was amazing compared to Pavlik because he didn't telegraph his punches, he used the jab(x3 jabs) and feints properly. Also his defense is/was very good, not Mayweather good but it's not like Martinez could hit him anytime he wanted. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzW6n3vD1Po[/ame] He can improve on his feinting. His body punching, and using his height. Thats really all he needs.
I like P dud but really, he beat up an old winky who hadn't fought in 2 years. That was EASY money at the sportsbook.
Paul Williams also can improve his use of angles, punches like leaping uppercuts which take advantage of his height. By improving his feints I mean use deception such as deliberately throwing a punch to get the opponent into position for his power shot. Overall though he's the best in his weightclass so since nobody can beat him he has little incentive to improve. And of course he beat up an old Winky just like Mayweather beat up an old Oscar.
Actually it will be easy. Williams Cintron is like Pacquiao beating up on Cotto. Cintron has no speed, telegraphs all his punches, cannot deal with the volume puncher Margarito, and on top of it all has a weak chin. He doesn't stand a chance and I predict he will be knocked out in the first few rounds. If he actually makes it past the first few rounds he will lose by TKO when the ref stops the fight.
Cintron should resurrect his fading career with MMA now. He has regressed to the point of looking like a journeyman. Heck, I think Pacquaio will make him both quit and cry.
