obv clev v bellew has a brit winner

    but froch v ward

and burns v broner are real pick 'ems think froch could do it but ****** is daft giving his world champ away disadvantage against a classy challenger

NB - khan does not have an opponent yet

anyway will the UK end up with more or less world champs (main 4 bodies) than it begins the season with??????

There are only 2 proper world champions listed there. Froch and Khan.

Martinez wasn't a proper world champion though.

Yes, a British winner, at British level. I don't care what the WBO say, Clev is not a proper "World" champ, and Bellew is at least a level below him.

Burns has as much right as Froch & Khan to call himself a 'world champion' the way boxing currently is. He beat a legitimate belt holder who was probably in the top 3 at the weight to win it. Yes his defences have been shocking but the fact of the matter is Froch has yet to prove he is the linear no.1 at super middle (Khan neither though that was principally due to Bradley refusing a fight). So making a distinction between proper 'world champions' and belt holders in this case isn't fair on burns imo.

If froch beats ward then fair enough, he has every right to declare himslef as the true Supermiddleweight champion of the world. I'm not trying in any way to defend Burns' reign as champion which has been a joke frankly but the Martinez win in my mind gives him the samet to call himself world champion as Froch and Khan

Even calling Khan and Froch world champions is looser than my usual criteria, but considering they have both faced and beat top ranked contenders I let it slip. Burns has one decent win against a fighter I don't rate. There's a difference.
