1. Where do you rank Derek Chisora among the best Deontay's wins?
I take the view that the win could be viewed as one of the most important to him, as he proved he was not gun shy, albeit the 'gun' was not once what it was.

2. How did this win change your perception of current versio of current version of Wilder - do you think he isn't as shot as most people thought him to be after his last couple of losses?
Well i had him down prior to the fight as going to beat Chisora, so not changed my perception, however despite being pleased to see Wilder showed others he is not gun shy, it does not change my wish for him to hang up the mitts, go out on a win.


3. How would Wilder vs Chisora fight play out if they have faced each other in their respective primes?
I think Mr Wilder would have had his 2 seconds of luck and got KO or TKO win, his right hand had a definite soporific effect when it landed, Chisoras pressure could well have won him the day, but i will stick with a Wilder win.

1. It's #1. Stivern was a guy who gets beat by Demetrice King, and Ortiz has a shockingly think resume, marred by the fact that his own best win, Thompson, involved a PEDs bust. This was it, and never mind that Chisora is old, because so is Wilder.

2. He's shot. He can still enjoy more fights against fellow declined fighters- Whyte, Joshua, Ruiz...but he's not contending any more.

3. Who knows? Probably similar to last night. But are clumsy...Wilder has the bigger power but Chisora is a guy who will try to bully you and load up with right and left hooks. Messy brawl at any point in their careers.

 

1. its a top 3 win of his career. partly for the lack of good wins under wilders belt but also taking into consideration where both fighters are at. both slowed down but chisora was considered to have more left in the tank coming off two of his best wins.

2. he looked better than i expected at this point but still sloppy, slower and maybe the powers leaving him. i dont think he'll be able to be as competitive against less shot fighters but he defo looked better than i expected. I will say i did leave with more respect for his chin. ate shots and gave them right back.

3. in there prime? both faster and stronger but both more reckless. I reckon wilder gets him out of there still.

2. Wilder is shot, more shot than Chisora, which was reflected by him being the underdog

3. Probably Wilder KO, similar to Haye-Chisora

The win is also improved by Chisora being the home fighter and having the ref on his side.

Chisora has been knocked out and hurt WAY more times than Wilder, hasn't stopped him walking forward to every opponent he has faced though has it? Just like it didn't stop him last night, at the age of 42, continuing to just walk forward over and over despite not having his legs underneath him most of the fight.

Wilder probably has more heart than we realise. But he's never been allowed to show it, because he's never been allowed to fight contenders.

 

Wilder was not that good to begin with. He was allowed to succeed in an enviorment where he had low level of competition outside of AJ, Fury at the time. He was never really tested outside of fighting Ranked Ortiz which wasn't all that much. Once he started to step up his competiiton after getting KOed he started to fight those guys he was ducking and that went horribly.

So it is not that he was shot last night. He was, but he never was that good to begin with. The division is at a historical low point which is why Usyk is allowed to dominate in the first place. He wins his fights off of conditioning more than his boxing skills,which is why his fights don't end up as 9-3 fights like Crawford does,because his skill alone is not what is winning him those fights.

Wilder was a fighter in a weak era that managed to hold a belt hostage who was shot after getting blown out by Fury and his competition got tougher so he got more exposed, but he would have lost to those guys anyway,because he was not good to begin with and won fights off of athletisim, and he wasn't even all that athleticely gifted either i'd say.

I guess people will view whichever way they choose to suit their point of view

One view could be that they were both past their best, so reasonably evenly matched, though Chisora has fought overall at a higher level imo

Another view could be that Wilder was facing someone who possibly has a better resume than anyone else he has beaten

Maybe it's a bit of both

I would possibly have it as his 5th best win, behind the 2 Ortiz wins, Stiverne and Breazeale

A question to everyone -
Chisora had lost 13 times previously
Do all those 13 wins other opponents had rank higher than Wilders win?

 

1. It's top 3.....simply because Wilder doesn't have an elite resume. Chisora was never elite in my eyes.

2. Wilder isn't shot, he's just not very talented. He showcase that even this weekend. Wilder was exposed by Ortiz, then Fury capitalized on it. This win doesn't change what's already on the timeline for me.

3. Similar....probably more exciting, but I think it probably ends the same way.
