Why did he never rematch Hearns? Would he have ever stood a chance with Hearns or was Hearns just all wrong for him?

If Hagler had really went out to stop him do you think it probably would have happened?

How do you see him going with Pryor at 140?

Hearns was a horrific styles match up for him an he got KTFO in 2 rounds no need for a rematch.

Maybe maybe not lesser fighters than Duran went a full fight with Hagler some he knocked down in the process.

I actually would favor Duran who was more complete. Pryor going to war with Duran would have played right into Duran's hands and it's hard to beat Duran at his own game especially a guy who's the same size or smaller like Pryor.

Who knows but he did go up in weight and beat Barkley who beat Hearns ..I would love to know if a rematch with Hearns was even considered ,I doubt he was afraid of him fighting Hagler not long after.

The question was could Hagler have stopped him styles make fights ..

And like Pimc C said going to war with Duran play right into his game plan

I pretty much agree with this. It's a bit hard to understand how Duran was able to beat Barkley who beat Hearns and was of similar size to Hearns, but it is what it is. Probably the more amazing thing is not that Hearns knocked Duran out, but that Duran was able to floor Barkley despite getting hit as many times as he did.

As powerful as Hagler was fighting more aggressive would actually help duran as he would then land many more counters specially right hands. Notice that at the end of the fight hagler's eye was already showing damage. That's why hagler's trainers kept telling him to box and not brawl with duran. Now at this stage of their careers hagler had more stamina than duran so it is possible that he could pressure duran enough to force a tko during the champioship rounds but it would be a huge risk since duran was targeting that eye.

No need for a rematch. Hearns is the worst possible style for Duran.

Hagler had trouble with Duran because of Durans cageyness and skills. If he went out looking for the KO, he might have found himself on the canvas himself. No fighter should look for a KO unless happens or presents an itself organically or he is behind on the cards.

Duran beats Pryor imo, by decision.
