Tomorrow, the greatest PPV selling event turns 3 years old. The World Awaits, which featured Oscar De La Hoya as the WBC super-welterweight champ and Floyd Mayweather Jr. going up in weight making his debut at 154#. De La Hoya, came from a 364 days layoff after winning the previous year against Ricardo Mayorga by a 6th round KO. Meanwhile, PBF won 6 moths earlier against the linear champ Carlos Baldomir at welter by a 12 round UD, winning the WBC/Ring Magazine titles. This event sold 2.4 million buys and $134.4 million in domestic revenue, tickets sold out in three hours making a live gate record of $19+ million. DLH made $52 million and PBF made $25(the biggest payday in history for two boxers in one bout). It was the 2007 Ring Magazine Event of the Year.

    Compubox(Total Punches): DLH: 122/587(21%) PBF: 207/481(43%)
(Power Punches): DLH: 82/341(24%) PBF: 138/241(57%)
    (Jabs): DLH: 40/246(16%) PBF: 69/240(29%)

    Here's my scorecard
    DLH-PBF
    Round 1: 9-10
    RD.2 10-9
    RD.3 9-10
    RD.4 10-9
    RD.5 9-10
    RD.6 10-9
    RD.7 9-10
    RD.8 9-10
    RD.9 9-10
    RD.10 9-10
    RD.11 9-10
    RD.12 10-9

For those who said DLH won the fight or think DLH deserved a draw(like my brother) I want to know why.

Don't remind us of this fight. All that hype and it flat out sucked.

I agree, but I'm tired of people saying that DLH was close to winning and making excuses, so I wanna know who they think won the fight, I'm not satisfied with DLH deserved the decision, I want clear arguments.

There is no valid argument for DLH winning the fight. People just dislike Floyd so they want to say stupid things to try and discredit him. DLH did give a good account of himself though.

Only those who badly wanted to see Mayweather lose are the ones who feel that maybe DLH deserved something more, their feeling enhanced by the fact that DLH was doing pretty well during those early rounds.

    Oh, them and Tom Kaczmarek.

    I scored it a draw: 114-114

    Floyd: 1, 5, 9,10,11,12

    Oscar: 2,3,4,6,7,8

I have no problem with the judges scorecards.

Floyd won his rounds more convincingly than Oscar did.

8-4rds mayweather. the fight was boring. dlh didnt do anything unless mayweahter was on the ropes and mayweather was overly-cautious because dlh was significantly bigger then he was.

I scored it 120-108 Mayweather same as the Mosley fight. Both are lucky that Floyd took mercy on them and allowed them to finish the fight.
