ESPN Films Debuts 30 for 30 Shorts: "Robbed" Looks at Intersection of Boxing Injustice and Urban Chaos in the 1970s

The latest film in the 30 for 30 Shorts series, from Emmy Award-winning director Eric Drath, has debuted on Grantland.com.

"Robbed" delves into the 1976 Muhammad Ali and Ken Norton fight inside the ring at Yankee Stadium. The conclusion of this fight would go down as one of the most controversial decisions in the sport of boxing. But this fight, which should have been remembered for what happened inside the ring, was tainted by gang activity and theft in the wake of the NYPD strike happening just outside the stadium's doors. This short reveals a little-known story of the chaos taking place behind the scenes, recanted by legendary boxing promoter Bob Arum.

    Can't wait.

I have no agenda for Ali, but he was on the right end of a lot of questionable decisions. His mantra as "The Greatest" is so tainted, it's ridiculous.

Everytime I watch that last fight, it's a toss-up. More times than not I have Ali winning, though.

Ali won the fight. Norton just wasn't busy enough. I think Jimmy young has a better case

I had their trilogy 1-1-1.. but hardly the worst decisions of all time.

Oooohh, my bad...was referring to Ali-Norton II in my first reply. Watched III through clearly biased lenses for Ali trying to give him rounds and could only manage to give him 7. Not the worst decision I've ever seen but definitely a clear win for Norton.
