Why do folk miss the true point of this dreadfully biased no mas shyte video, It's all ABOUT LEONARD'S EGO!! The whole programme was edited in such a way as to make SRL look the poor victim of an injustice, absolute rubbish, 1st) just look at the dreadful aspersions that SRL is casting out onto Duran with regard to the hammering he got in Montreal, now he's attempting to undermine that with the fact that Duran had Panama Lewis in his corner. Panama Lewis had ZIP to do with the Duran camp, he was a leech, a hanger on, just another cronie in Duran's entourage, but the SRL fanboy who concocted the travesty slips it in with SRL's blessing. 2) It showed some geezar picking up a rubber chicken of the floor just after the end of the clip of Duran leaving the after fight presser. THE REAL TRUTH HERE is that the chicken was thrown at Leonard by Tommy Hearns who challenged Leonard at SRL's after fight presser & SRL refused to fight Tommy, stating that "When Tommy has beaten someone of the Calibre of a Roberto Duran then he'll fight him" so Hearns threw the Rubber chicken at him. But with this shocking agenda editing this was left out! The crux of this travesty of a programme was all down to the fact that SRL has never go over the fact that he had his arse handed to him in MontreaL, He was beaten by the better man, the better boxer, older/smaller/slower & SRL got DONE by the better man when both met on a level playing field!! SRL knows that Duran has this movie coming out so he goes about hoping to destroy it in advance, this man's ego is stratospheric, he's a real mean nasty disingenuous ******* of a man, all the false bonhomie & cheesy smiles, wistful confusion on his face as if trying to solve a puzzle that in fact he created himself! I thought with age I'd mellowed towards him, but after watching that 30/30 I was right all along, he is a Kunt of a human being, He didn't get the handle of "The Ego Maniacs Ego Maniac" for nothing, always twisting & turning. I'm not defending Duran in the least, but SRL has never stopped trying to undermine Duran, he just can't accept or will accept he got battered by Duran, after that Montreal fight SRL's management went into overdrive by way of employing any & all means albeit fair or fowl to seek an advantage beyond what can be construed as a level playing field! SRL hates the fact that out of the fab 4 he rates as FORTH in popularity, He's respected 100% for being the warrior that he is...but...that don't mean to say you have to like him. To many machinations, smoke & mirrors with SRL. That programme just showed you what a devious, vicious, duplicitous ******* of a man he still is & always has been, the true & ultimate BULLY! Vicious green with envy nasty SOB. Next time I pray that Roberto smacks the kunt, I got the impression at the very end that Duran may have said to Leonard, lets sort this out now......cue...cut & edit out!
you mean someone of YOUR limited mental capacity, otherwise you wouldve thought of it before revealing your stupidity for all to see Duran was in no danger in Orleans. why do u mae false claims? answer: cuz u aint worth a ****
oh I'm sure it is we should just believe everything that this pillar of integrity tells us after all, he IS a personal trainer! Hey personal trainer, what did u think when Sugar went into his shuffle on Howard right before Kevin, a man half leonard's size, managed to put him on the deck? what about Barkley's chances right before he knocked Tommy senseless?
I wouldn't say intresting, as it's nothing unusual in boxing. Duran could hardly just quit 'again', what would his excuse be this time? He had bladder pain and needed a ****? He saved his next quit job for the Irish Pat Lawlor fight in 1991..."i can't fight on amigo, i've hurt my shoulder...i mean my rib...maybe it's the bicep...or the elbow...whatever it is, there's no way I can fight on, it's really bad". This was not long after he ripped the public off again with his non-effort in the third Leonard farce.
You've pretty much nailed it, I think. I never even considered that this may have been Leonard's way of stealing some thunder from Duran's movie (or attempt to scupper it in a sense) but you very well may have a point. Wow, could Leonard's ego really stretch that far? I guess it could. I just want to make it perfectly clear that this thread wasn't an attempt to bash Leonard, who has actually risen a fair bit in my estimation as the years have passed. But the documentary does seem to have a bit of a one-sided (if not blatantly biased) outlook on events, and I think a legitimate question can be raised as to why the docu even exists at all.
I still don't know why Duran quit, it was far from a one sided boxing lesson. The fight was still competitive with plenty of rounds to go.
It is only a major talking point to insignificant vermin like you. Duran has long since forgotten it, and seeing as he can buy and sell crap like you whatever you think means less than nothing. I don't know about going your own way, but you sure a **** ought to go far away because you really are a pathetic little cretin aren't you?
Save your poxy American education terminology for those that have been contaminated by it. GREAT Britain has no use for such irrelevance.
Dundee pushed the fight for a quick rematch knowing that Duran was deep in the party mode, Leonard drew the American $ and Dundee threatened to fight Hearns instead...another clever Dundee maneuver
Typical ,zero class individual...No more comment needed for the likes of you ...Now come on Classy Britain, bring on the human waste statements !!!
Ray also made sure the Hagler fight was 12 rounds, not 15! For this concession, Hagler got a bigger purse. Very wise. Duran is in a no win situation here. He quit without a major injury, and wasn't out of the fight by any means.
Hagler got a fine deal- easily his biggest payday to fight the scheduled 12 rounds...the same distance agreed with Hearns and Mugabi.
