    LOL.

It only took 30 minutes for Canelo to change his tune. We are right back in the same situation as we were with Cotto. A lineal MW champion who refuses to fight MW's at MW. :happy:happy

Canelo: "I’m not afraid of any fighter. GGG is a great fighter ... If we do a fight it’s going to be at my weight class." per Lance Pugmire

It doesn't matter, GGG still beats him. Its just a negotiating tactic.

If GGG can really make 154, and he gets a serious offer from them, he should jump all over it.

Would be a very easy win for Golovkin. Canelo puts up very little resistance, as I see it playing out should it ever happen.

Is it a negotiating tactic? Or a "let's revisit this prospect in 12-18 months" tactic?

    Or that too.:yep

I actually think Canelo is gonna man up and do it. Maybe not right away but he will.

Canelo looked drained making weight for this fight and was over 170 today. This is nonsense that he can't do 160. However I know it's a negotiation ploy. I hope it's 157 or 156.
Either way he is going to have to fight triple G or stay at junior middle. So let's get it made.

I've never been big on Canelo, Jeff. He's just so lethargic for a 25 year old, and he's not especially fast. He can't keep the pace needed to hold Golovkin off him. Those long lulls of inactivity he suffers in most rounds, at some point during the 180 second stanzas, are something that I see Golovkin pouncing on viciously.

I never liked Canelo's chances against Golovkin, and I like them even less now. He might well be more skilled than anyone GGG has faced, but he's too small and his output is too low.

Canelo is overrated. Triple G will slaughter him. Nothing to do with weight. Triple G is a far better fighter.,

You clearly have no ability to comprehend the sport, if you can't see how easy a fight for GGG this is.

I'd be surprised if Oscar let's him anywhere near Golovkin within the next 12-18 months. If I wind up being wrong, credit to Canelo for seeking the best. Big props in that case.

But if I'm right, and Oscar procrastinates, then the more interesting question becomes, "what will the WBC do?"

I'm not a fan of catch-weights because they open up the door for excuses but Roy Jones said it best, Golovkin needs Canelo more than Canelo needs Golovkin.

The kid has massive huevos I think he'll force Oscar's hand, I don't think Oscar wanted him to face Lara, Trout or Floyd either, but Canelo wanted to, so Oscar complied. Oscar at this point knows how good GGG is and wants no part of him for Canelo, but he's stubborn and seems to really want to be a true Mexican warrior, and I don't think I'm being naïve here.

I get you're a Triple Duck nut hugger but come on...the guy looks amazing against tin cans....we'll see against Canelo...I'm betting Canelo starches him...he'll be what....at least 35 by the time they fight? He's already slower than Canelo as it is...his stamina isn't exactly amazing either so that is fairly negated...defense is clearly not better...footwork yes but Canelo will still beat him to the punch every time. Chins..well we've yet to see Triple G fight anyone with a pulse to catch him well enough to see if it's actually iron...
