Well, if Canelo is the one really calling the shots, and Oscar is the one really working for Canelo, then you may be right. But I have my doubts. As soon as he said he'd face GGG right at that moment - I thought, PR-wise, it was a good reply, and that it was also a pre-rehe****d response, so it doesn't make him look bad to a televised paying audience. But I still expect them to drag their feet before making this happen.

I'm more interested in a Vargas-Miura rematch, honestly.

Canelo DIDN'T change his tune. He has said this all along.

Oscar will in no way block Canelo from fighting Triple G now. They're not going to screw up people liking Canelo because he takes risk. If by a slim chance Golovkin wins, well Canelo will recover and still be a star. Dropping 3-5 pounds to face Canelo may seem like nothing until he has to do it...

GGG is better in every department than Canelo, Canelo is very skilled no doubt, but there's a reason he didn't go all out tonight and pickled his spots against Cotto, he was pacing himself so he wouldn't gas, GGG's constant pressure would gas Canelo out by the 6th round if he lasts that long, defensively GGG is brilliant, what did he get caught with 2 clean shots from Lemieux, Canelo I'm not even sure makes it past David to be hinest, GGG's chin is iron, at least iron enough to go the distance with someone who couldn't stop Cotto or Trout.

I've been trying to hype the hell out of that match since it was signed damn it and no one listened, I said it would be a masterpiece and it was.:D

Miura got robbed of a great comeback, and yes I'd love to see a rematch as well.

I Can see Canelo being to quick for triple quack especially at 155 would love to see triple quack get his ass handed to him, he looked like a douche sitting ringside with his smug grin on his face, he obviously made sure he wasn't sitting anywhere near Ward as he is scared ****less if him.

Canelo impressed me tonight he showed skills to make it interesting if they (ggg and canelo)fight Canelo might surprise some people. Cinamon is better than that French Canadian dude. That was a mismatch! Canelo needs GGG to come down and meet him half way!!

The WBC should have the bout forced at 160 if Alvarez wants some rubbish catch-weight. GGG runs him over at any weight, but please, some athletic integrity would be nice.

And as for Alvarez not needing Golovkin, sure he does. There is no bigger fight between 154-160.

    It's real simple isn't it

If Canelo wants to defend the MW title it should be at 160

If he wants to get stripped they could agree a non title fight at a catch weight

I find it strange that some posters on here almost want a MW unification fight to be at a catchweight ? Why would you want that

Canelo will hardly look small at 160 anyway

Of course the power players of boxing will always be able to dictate terms to their advantage, but the fact some boxing fans applaud this is beyond stupid

Any normal boxing fans should want fighters to try and unify divisions at the proper weight class

I Can see Canelo slipping Golovkins jab and nail him with a counter right hand.

Canelo is good in a number of departments but exceptional in none. He's also lacking in movement and ring generalship. I can't see any area in which he's better than GGG - cept possibly a slight edge in handspeed when he lets his flurries go which seems to come at the expense of power.

And referencing the Lemieux fight, GGG could pretty much beat Canelo with his jab alone if he chose.

If Canelo were to be granted his catchweight demands he could well outweigh Golovkin by 5 - 10lbs on fight night, but it wouldn't be nearly enough.
