Even Primo Carnera couldn't beat Tyson on that night!

And shortly after Holmes beat ray mercer and went the distance with a prime holyfield, it' also the only time Holmes was ever knocked out, Holmes had a great chin, even survived a picture perfect power shot from shavers, Tyson was a beast

People say Holmes wasn't prepared. Was unfit , to old here against Tyson , but I do ntsee anyone else in the division including holy field doing that to Larry . Not in4 rounds .Tyson was on fire then and a match for most top heavy s in history .

In all his fights with guys who could intimidate - Shavers (twice!), Norton, etc - Holmes still entered the ring looking ready for anything. This was the only time he looked like he had no idea where he was, and didn't want to be there. When the bell rang, he went about his business, but the rust was apparent ... still, he had plenty of skills to fall back on, and should have been able to weather the storm, but Tyson was too strong and too focused. More time/training wouldn't have helped. Mike had his number that night.

Like I said, Primo Carnera wouldn't have made it past Tyson that night.

Right before the final KO knockdown Holmes loads up to hit Tyson to slow his assault and his arm got caught in the ropes leaving him turned to the side and exposed for the final blow.
1988 Tyson's greatest year and one of the best ever for any heavyweight.
