    Selcuk Aydin vs. Dzmitry Lubachkin

    Round 1

Lubachkin comes right forward and leans up against Aydin. Lubachkin tries to work his hands around the sides while leaning but Aydin is using a lot of elbow to drive him back into punching range. Jab to the body by Aydin. Lubachkin retreats until he sees Aydin near the ropes and then swoops in to smother him against them, throwing a body shot while leaning. Aydin covers up while rolling along like a tank, and Lubachkin tries to flip short punches under his guard. They come together briefly, heads bumping and Aydin just throws him bodily across the ring after hooking blind at him a few times. Lubachkin was cut very badly across the brow from the clash, and they take a full minute to look at it. Once the action resumes Lubachkin tries to tie up. Aydin wrestles him off and throws a lot of hooks and short elbows. HUGE left hook over the top lands unseen on Lubachkin's chin and liquefies his legs. Lubachkin tries to run but is a baby deer. Aydin comes forward clubbing hard with his right. One final right hand has Lubachkin tumbling to the floor and doing a bit of a chicken dance while down, trying to scramble up. A chicken break-dance?

    Needless to say, it's over.

Good display of power; the cut was irrelevant.

Hawkins hasn't managed an upset since he manhandled Dominick Guinn on Friday Night Fights over three years ago.

He's lost six straight since then (including one to the headliner, Ondrej Pala).

Obviously you don't follow the European scene, fair enough. :yep

Selcuk Aydin is a name you should know as it's popped up on the General Forum, though. There was a persistent rumor of him fighting Berto for a while. :good

    Round 1

Teper is...well, tepid so far. He's using a lot of smooth movement on the outside and making Hawkins miss but not exploiting the old man's slow hands by countering. Teper throws some light uppercuts while falling in but then just slips his way back out. Hawkins is forearm-blocking the uppercuts and body shots of Teper, and ducking right under the feeble hooks that slide against the top of his head and across his back. Poor round, a feeling-out period hopefully.

    10-9 Teper

atlthough Teper uses bodyshots, and Hawkins is chubby I don't think that will stop him. Hawkins can take huge shots to the body I've seen before.

    Round 2

Teper finally puts some mustard on the uppercut and the first one that lands on the chin drops Hawkins in a heap. He barely beats the count. Teper comes in with an uppercut to the body. Teper threatens with his jab up high and forces Hawkins to bring his arms up to protect his face, then digging uppercuts into his belly. Hawkins isn't getting out of range very effectively, and is walked into a corner. Teper tees off with some wide looping shots to the sides until Hawkins leans in and grabs. Slapping overhand right across the ear by Teper. Hawkins is trying to fight back with short bursts of punching while falling forward into clinches but his hands are just too slow, even when punching in combination. Hawkins is keeping his hands up and looking alert; seems to have shaken the cobwebs. Wide punches from Teper, just going through the motions and keeping Hawkins petrified more than trying to do damage.

    10-8 Teper

It looked like the uppercut that dropped him was a headshot. :think

Teper's body punches do seem pretty ineffective so far. He doesn't get any real torque into them, just throws them off the tips of his toes. They're like little snowflakes melting into Hawkins' lovehandles.

Yes it was, would be hilarious if he indeed was put down by a bodyshot right after I typed it but it was on the chin. :yep

    Round 3

Hawkins is the aggressor, but it's a pretty pathetic sight. He hammers his way in with overhand lefts and rights and Teper easily shoulder-blocks every single punch. Hawkins is getting off a half-dozen unanswered blows at a time and Teper is totally relaxed, casually defending and not even bothering to counter...just letting Hawkins expend himself. Hawkins changes it up a bit and throws a high jab followed by a quick-ish pair of whips to the body. Teper leaps in with a sloppy 1-2 that claps against either side of Hawkins' collarbone. Teper keeps pushing Hawkins forward pecking with jabs and soft crosses, all range-finders. Hawkins is still trying to hit him and missing badly, but his output has slowed from the opening thirty seconds or so when he was a crazed clubbing caveman.
