Contrary to what Boxrec says, Russell-Landeros is only scheduled for 6 rounds (not eight).

    It's also coming up NEXT!

Mister Gary Russell Jr. looks hyper-focused. No BS. He doesn't even raise his eyes to meet Landeros', just staring down at his feet consumed by thought.

    Round 1

Fast right jabs by Russell. He doubles them and puts left crosses behind them in the blink of an eye. Landeros starts the round out trying to counter with his left jab but ultimately begins to maneuver his way back to the ropes and try to catch Russell coming in. Hand speed differential is nuts. Russell lands 4-5 shots before Landeros has even pulled the trigger on one. Landeros is in the corner, getting his face whipped to shreds. Landeros bursts forward with a right hand to chase Russell out momentarily. Russell jabs him back to the ropes, keeping his distance and extending that right jab really well without creating any openings. Russell tucks his chin about half an inch to reel it in out of the way of a Landeros jab and starts annihilating Landeros with lightning counters. Landeros DOWN! Twenty seconds left as he rises. Russell swarms him against the ropes. ONSLAUGHT!!! Right hooks to the body and crazy fast straight combos to the face, through Landeros' gloves.

    10-8 Russell

Agreed. This is the most serious I've ever seen Russell. He's making an example out of Landeros.

    Round 2

Russell does his submarine impression, diving under jabs and breaching to pop his own in Adolfo's face. Russell flashes his hands out to menace Landeros but isn't landing a whole lot yet so far. Landeros chases him off with a powerful but telegraphed right hand lead. Russell blocks another one, and it thuds loudly against his left palm. Landeros stays too long on the inside admiring his work after backing Russell up a few steps with another blocked right, and wears a hard counter right hook on the brow. Russell is standing in and holding up a high guard, with Landeros parachuting in to land rights to the body. Landeros keeps trying to tough his way through Russell's speedy jab and start pouring leather on his sides up close. Landeros doing an OK job this round but the connect advantage still belongs to Russell (even factoring in some of his lazy missed jabs early on). Landeros backs him up, but remains wary as Russell's right jab is still a constant threat.

    Closer.

    20-17 Russell

    Round 3

Russell throws hard right jabs while circling off in that same direction. Quick combos are built off the jab with his feet barely touching the ground. Landeros drills his way inside with a blocked but reverberating right hand and then grabs Russell, spinning him in place for a while until broken up. Russell now starts focusing on one-at-a-time counters and really ringing up Landeros's cranium hard, especially with the laser-like left hand. Russell triples, quadruples his right jab. Quick three punch flash by Russell. Landeros is shut down, just circling, guarding, and resetting on the outside without any time to breathe...let alone mount an offense. Russell keeps flashing out his hands in quick straight bursts but is mostly blocked. Right hook to the body lands, though.

30-26 Russell but he's having to work harder than expected since Rd 1

Yeah, I've seen Adolfo a bunch of times before. He's always game. :good

It's no black mark on Russell not to have gotten the job done. Nobody blows him out early. (nobody not named Guillermo Rigondeaux, anyway).

    Round 4

Quick right jabs on the go by Russell. He's both the one circling, and the one cutting the ring off ever so slightly. Landeros remains fixed in place, except for a few minor shuffling steps away/aside to reset and square up on Russell. Landeros blocking everything coming his way but throwing nothing. Landeros is walked from one set of the ropes to the next, with Russell flashing out beautiful but largely unsuccessful combos. Now Russell starts aiming below the elbows, and landing VERY WELL. Landeros has no answer for the quick body shots. Russell is forcing a hastier retreat, using both hands to great effect curled underhand. Landeros is in trouble near a corner, but saved by the bell.

    40-35 Russell Jr.
