First on the draw is Mike Perez vs. Kertson Manswell

Top seed vs. bottom seed, essentially.

 

Round 1

Manswell holds his left out stiffly, and Perez immediately wends his way in with his tight southpaw stance. Left uppercuts digging in by Perez. Manswell is hurt as Perez starts to let a series of headshots go! Manswell is smashed into a corner and then whacked along two sets of ropes clear to the other corner of the ring. Perez is laying on power punches as Manswell looks to hold and survive. Manswell is getting rocked by the shorter man. Hard hooks and overhands drive Manswell to a knee and he looks badly dazed. He beats the count but doesn't look quite right. Hard right hook to the body by Perez. A continued assault has Manswell backing up. Manswell throws a flailing combo when backed almost to the ropes trying to halt Perez. Manswell holds. Perez digs with a left uppercut to the stomach. Hard straight left to the chin by Perez. Manswell is badly hurt and leans in, pushing his bicep into Perez. HUGE left hand rocks Manswell and forces him to lean in and hold.

Manswell's gumshield out.

Perez comes back and menaces Manswell with short right hooks and straight lefts slammed straight up into his face.

Round 2

Manswell actually catches Perez straight away with a big right uppercut. It knocks Perez back on his heels momentarily but seemed to surprise him more than hurt him. Perez pops his right jab and throws a left to the body. Manswell dodges it by backing up and holding his left out to maintain range, measuring. Perez paws with his right jab and then suddenly converts it into a wide and powerful right hook that smacks Manswell on the side of the head. Manswell tries for another big right uppercut but can't bottle lightning twice now that Perez has scouted it. Good southpaw 1-2 by Perez. Manswell is turning his left shoulder out while backing up and pulling his head down and away. Perez is caught backing straight up with his hands down by a huge straight right, and again he seems stunned but not hurt and nods in acknowledgement. Looping left hand from Perez, set up by his jab. Manswell has his jab deflected, and then gets jabbed twice hard in the face. Perez circles him in close, sizing him up. Left uppercuts and right jabs land for Perez.
