Right now the heavyweight 8-rounder between Tom Dallas and Zack Page is at the halfway mark.

Page has been spoiling, luring Dallas along with his hands low and then pressing in to meet him with his arms folded out in front. The springing-in-place and plodding Dallas has caught him with the 1-2 flush a few times but hasn't appeared to hurt him. Page is landing a regular pitter-patter on the inside but isn't really scoring enough to take rounds.

Page is actually getting up close and jerking Dallas' head to the side with his right up-jab now in the fifth, all while leaning away and turning his face away from Dallas' slow counter attacks. Dallas keeps everything straight and predictable. Page is rolling with almost everything that lands, and still hasn't taken anything at full power.

    Round 6

Dallas is still chopping with his tennis-racket jab and telegraphing his right cross like mad. Page is actually flipping up a fair amount of right jabs while taking all of Dallas' shots on the neck and clavicle. Nice overhand left by Page. Dallas tries to trade jabs with the rugged old American and loses badly. Page is boxing his head off right now. Right jabs and overhand lefts are landing all over the place across the face and chest of Dallas as Page continues to use minimal circling and head movement to avoid taking any punishment in return.

10-9 Page, a clear round for him.

Assuming the first three resembled 4 & 5, that would make it 59-55 Dallas at this point. I could see the 5th maybe swinging Page's way in neutral territory but you can rest assured it didn't in Kent.

Only caught this from round 5...Page has made him look very slow and ordinary.

    Round 7

Page gets caught with a big shot and clinches. Dallas keeps slapping out with his jab coming forward, landing nothing. Page uses body feints to back him off, making Dallas look very clumsy as he halts his large frame in stuttered motions. Page is whacking the ribs of the taller man while diving into clinches. Good left uppercut to the stomach by Page. Dallas starts to hook his hands towards Page but aborts the combination as Page quickly yanks himself out of the pocket. Page makes Dallas duck a right jab only to swerve his head right into the path of a flush left hand delivered straight out at chest-level for Page. They trade some slow shots on the inside, with Page slipping and landing more of his slightly less slow shots.

10-9 Page, other than hurting him early Dallas accomplished nothing.

Horrible showing from Dallas. A bit of movement and he has no idea what to do. Not what you want in a heavyweight prospect.

You've got to be quite slow and clueless to make a heavyweight journeyman with more losses than wins look like Pernell Whitaker. Thats just my opinion though.

    Round 8

Dallas keeps hacking with his jab and is throwing some harder right hands behind it. Page makes sure to get up close and gum up the works. Dallas is well smothered and is getting smacked with right hooks while trying to pry Page off of him. Page is outmuscling the much larger man and infighting well enough to keep him blinking leather out of his eyes...with Page coming through unscathed even when he steps back into range and leans off to the side with his head cocked. Dallas has absolutely no answers. Page lands a right hook and high-soaring upward left from mid range as Dallas just advances with no defense, arms spread wide to anticipate the clinch.

    10-9 Page

****, if Page really won some early rounds he might deserve this. :think

    **** YOU, UK BOXING! :fire

This archaic referee scoring system HAS TO GO.

Three judges. That's how it works in boxing.

The referee raised the hand of Dallas, and you could hear a pin drop.

Page raises his own arms and gets raucous applause. Says it all.

The only distinguishable thing said by Tom "Mumbles" Dallas was "it was just one of them days, y'know?"

Frank Maloney then says he was lucky to get the decision and praises the American.

    Honesty? From a promoter????
