The WBA 154lb IC title bout between Bradley Pryce and Sergey Rabchenko just ended (I caught on halfway through).

Mad Max walking to the ring to some reggae, to be followed by Dazzling Tom.

My informal call in the Brit forum of the last few rounds of Pryce-Rabchenko:

Doran looks twiggy, his first time making the light middleweight limit in a year (three fights in that time).

Maxwell looks like a bodybuilder. He's got Shannon Briggs hair tied back.

Like, literally, Shannon Briggs' hair. An enormous braid fit for a heavyweight. :blood

    Round 1

Doran is a buzzsaw, swarming all over Maxwell and hooking him with both hands to the sides of the head. Doran is DROPPED! Short crunching shot to the chin has him stumbling into the ropes and ruled down. Doran covers up as he continues to stay right at phonebooth distance, throwing lots of uppercuts out of his tight guard. Maxwell is doing lots of body work, seems to have heavy hands. Doran is up on the ropes and nearly blasted full on with a hard right hand to the face as he leans straight back over the top rope. Maxwell is mauling him and slamming the body down low. Double jab by Maxwell. Doran is backing off and pawing with his. OH DAMN!!!! SHOESHINE TO THE BODY DROPS DORAN'S HAND AND MAXWELL NAILS HIM WITH A RIDICULOUSLY HARD RIGHT HAND! DORAN ON ***** STREET! MAXWELL GOES FOR THE FINISH!!

    WHAT THE ****??????????????????????????????????? :fire

DORAN FLURRIES BACK ONCE (LANDING ABOUT 3-4 GOOD SHOTS) AND MAXWELL IS STOPPED ON HIS FEET, NOT EVEN BUZZED!!!

    **** THAT REF!!!

That was like Calzaghe-Manfredo is Calzaghe himself had been on the verge of getting KTFO.

    HORRIBLE.

One of the most disgraceful things I've ever seen.

    Anyway, show goes on..

Stoyan Serbezov, a 4-16 Bulgarian who's obviously just brought in to give someone rounds of experience (stopped only once, from injury).

    James Dickens out, the favorite.

    Super bantamweight.

To be fair, Maxwell's hands dropped and at that point, he couldn't defend himself. It was quick, yes, but you can see why it was stopped.

    Round 1

Whoa, crazy stuff from Dickens. He threw about twenty lightning quick piston-like body shots, "bapbapbapbapbapbapbapbapbapbapbapbapbap" - all before Serbezov can react. Dickens is showing some good generalship with that southpaw stance, totally confident. Right jabs up high and hard right hooks to the body. Serbezov has nothing in answer. Good left uppercut inside by Dickens. Nasty right hooks to the body, landing very loudly. Dickens is actually throwing himself off balance with the volume and ferocity of his punches. Accordingly, he nearly goes down at one point but Serbezov has hardly even thrown anything (and certainly landed nothing). Dickens does have his hands low, a bit cocky. If Serbezov wasn't so useless that could be a problem.

He took a handful of good shots - and was in no serious trouble at that moment. He'd landed ten times as many equally good shots on Doran throughout the round (and had Doran at times also dropping his guard and head snapping back, the whole nine yards).

    Round 2

Target practice. Dickens is all over Serbezov, landing from all angles with both hands. Serbezov is slapping with wide left hooks around the side and not even coming close to landing. Serbezov tries flicking out a straight-ish right and gets countered hard. Dickens is working the head and body, using right hooks and left uppercuts from a half-crouch along with a mean 1-2 down the middle. Nasty straight lefts split the guard, as does a stiff jab. Serbezov is pulling a Clottey. Dickens takes what's given to him, hopping around and sniping Serbezov wherever he sees clean scoring area. Serbezov drifts away with gloves glued to his face.

    20-18 Dickens

    Round 3

Dickens jabs over the top, into Serbezov's forehead, trying to get the gloves to rise a little and create a hole for the hard piercing straight left to wiggle through. Serbezov paws with a lead right while leaned back, just batting the air. Dickens hops around him and smashes his ribs in with more right hooks. Serbezov continues to play peekaboo while plodding along uninspired, an odd waving left hook here and there easily dodged. Dickens gets impatient and becomes sloppy, hammering away at Serbezov up close and hitting mostly shoulder and arm. Serbezov tries to counter hook him on the inside and makes glancing contact but Dickens is just teeing off on him, penetrating the turtle shell often. Again Dickens gets a bit unfocused and sloppy as a limp 1-2 bounces off the arms of Serbezov.

    Round 4

The commentator says Serbezov is a "milk tray man" in Bulgaria. He should stick to his day job. :!:

Dickens is going for the KO, putting together hard combination sequences and landing but unable to sustain the damage as Serbezov covers up and shuffles away. Serbezov is getting rocked by those straight lefts to the face now, his hands barely held together. He is wincing from the right hooks to the body, too. Dickens flurries straight up into his face and alternately goes back downstairs with those right hooks. Serbezov finally ties him up. That doesn't work, quick break by the ref. Serbezov flees. Dickens chases after him, pommeling with the 1-2. Nice steady attack, not punching himself out but not giving Serbezov any breathing room either. Just constant pressure. Serbezov is totally winded, circling away and hooking weakly once out of range, just for show.

    40-36 Dickens

Actually, not sure I would want Stoyan delivering my dairy products if he loafs as often in the truck as in the ring.

He probably goes and gets baked all day while the goods all spoil in his cab. :yep

Matt Seawright has jogged out to some peppy dance music.

    His record is 3-46-2 :scaredas:

Rob Hunt, 14-1, is out to "everybody dance now".

Are they going to box or boogie?

Completely ridiculous stoppage. Maxwell did look slightly stunned, but Doran was in worse shape only seconds earlier. An entertaining action packed fight completely ruined by another b0ll0x premature stoppage.
