I'm not sure who else we'll see on the card. There's an interesting cast of possible cameos, though. Lots of good prospects.

Ronny Rios, Manuel Avila, Donyil Livingston (Andre Ward's cousin)...

We're guaranteed to see at least a couple of 'em, with Solo Boxeo's new expanded format. :happy

 

What the hell? They just spliced a bunch of blockbusters together to make it seem like there was a movie starring "WILL SMITH! ANTONIO BANDERAS! HALLE BERRY! y JACKIE CHAN!" (who were announced successively in very excited tones). "Esta Lunes!!!!!! "

Oh, Telefutura. I'm not going to tune in on Monday to watch Hollywood action movies dubbed in Spanish. I would if more fluent in Spanish, though. Promise.

Here we go, Ronny Rios vs. Georgi Kevlishvili - 8 rounds @ super featherweight.

 

Round 1

Rios is throwing long shots, lefts to the body and rights up top. Kevlishvili is basically forcing him to throw long, staying on the outside looking very tight and tentative. Kevlishvili hunches his shoulders together and looks to avoid as much as he can, only braving a few reaching jabs to the body himself with his upper body still held back and half a flinch creeping up on his face before anyone has made contact. Kevlishvili seems to be from one of those "lets' not hurt each other" boxing schools. Rios isn't exactly pressing the fight, though. Kevlishvili somehow walks him into a corner without throwing anything. Ooh, spoke too soon. Kevlishvili shows some fire with a good pair of digs to the body, stepping into them with some torque.

10-9 Rios

 

Round 2

Kevlishvili pops a couple of jabs and orbits Rios, keeping wide. Rios is flicking up some jabs and mostly reaching to the body with lead rights. Kevlishvili is making him miss and actually landing some nice rights of his own during one of his brief step-ins. Lead right from Kevlishvili grazes as Rios ducks into him, and they clinch. Hooking combo by Rios gets Kevlishvili pushed to the ropes and then clinching. Another fiery burst from Rios, but doesn't land much clean. Kevlishvili surges forward with a tomahawk right hand, mostly catching the back of Rios' head and neck. Clinch.

Round 3

Damn, some furious exchanges on the inside now. Both guys tighten their guards and place their feet inside their opponents' and they just SLUG away with hard hooks and uppercuts. Both getting slammed. This is really nice all of a sudden. Kevlishvili seems a bit more bothered by Rios' shots but is happy to stand in and trade. He has enough after about 90 seconds and circles back outside. Now Kevlishvili pops some straight flurries, trying to keep Rios from getting back inside. Rios jabs out and stays put, not giving Kevlishvili anything to counter. Now Rios marches him to the ropes and starts blasting away with lead rights. Kevlishvili is bouncing off the ropes and elbowing his way into clinches. Now they're toe to toe again and Kevlishvili is digging some nice hooks to the solar plexus. Rios is blocking and trying to hurl bombs back when Kevlishvili slows down.

It's not like posting activity on the General Forum drops off after FNF, though. People just post in shitty threads that have nothing to do with the LIVE BOXING THAT'S ON THE AIR. :cus

Everybody always boycotts Solo Boxeo, even though it's quite often the superior product to FNF and ShoBox. (sometimes not, but...often enough)

 

Round 4

Holy hell, Rios is throwing MURDEROUS rights. Rios wants this knockout badly. He is just selling out and ripping Kevlishvili hard, already throwing when he's halfway in the zone. Kevlishvili is hitting him with hard counters but not deterring him. This is some good action, despite Kevlishvili's efforts to the contrary. NICE straight shot by Rios. He tees off on Kevlishvili as the Georgian ducks down. Bad strategy for Kevlishvil, as he's just getting his skull treated like a drum. Rios is clocked with a couple of nice hard shots by a desperate Kevlishvili slugging off the ropes! Rios wades through it, gets up close and lands his power! Kevlishvili stands up to it!

Oomph! This is quality.

39-37 Ronny Rios

 

Round 5

Kevlishvili is trying to meet Rios halfway now, and nip things in the bud by getting off first with hard shots. Rios dents his head with hard hooks and rights. Kevlishvili gets in and transforms his left arm into an aluminum baseball bat, using it to beat the stuffing out of Rios' right side. These guys are throwing 95% power punches and even their jabs are meant to hurt. Someone's bleeding. Maybe both of them. DAMN THIS IS GOOD ****! They lean in together and trade hooks to the body and combos to the face. ALL OF THESE SHOTS ARE VERY HARD. Hook/right/hook by Rios - ALL flush. Kevlishvili stands his ground and tags him right back. Rock'em Sock'em Humans! Both continue to get years shaved off their careers as each dishes out punishment oblivious to what's coming back at them.

Kevlishvili is making it VERY competitive, but Rios is still landing the slightly harder and cleaner stuff.
