Round 1 Maderna controls the range with his jab and swats away at Bruer's. Maderna takes cautious steps around his opponent, landing his jab and missing a few rights as he's slow on the trigger with them. Bruer takes a few hard slices at him and misses badly. Neither has a good workrate, and there is no sense of urgency in the ring. Both just relaxed and casually stepping around each other, jabbing very carefully. Suddenly Maderna drops him hard, spinning him around to land on his face with a big left hook that Bruer didn't see coming as they were mutually pushing out of a leaning clinch with their forearms! Bruer crawls on his hands and knees, flopping a bit against the ropes as he starts to rise but thinks better of it. He turns his back to the referee while taking to his feet, declining the offer to walk forward and show he's OK. KO1 That was quick, thankfully.
4-round walkout bout at super featherweight. Two guys that are both 0-1. Nicolas Atilio Velasquez and Daniel Esteban Pose.
Round 1 Pose DOWN from the very first right hook!! He gets up on shaky legs and Velasquez keeps hammering away with left and right uppercuts to the body as Pose protects his face. Hard combos by Velasquez , punching with all his might. He slows down a bit as Pose is blocking most of it and he's just wasting energy selling out and going for the KO, a bit over-eager. Pose is caught with another big left hook and wobbled a bit. Velasquez is throwing hard bombs all over the place, favoring the straight left, and Pose is just barely blocking them while walking back on his heels. 10-8 Velasquez
Round 2 Velasquez is all over Pose, winging lefts and rights in from the sides and trying to push him back to the ropes. Pose pushes his way free with a weak jab. Hard left uppercut by Velasquez. Pose keeps pawing and stumbling around, feeling out for the canvas with his rear foot trailing an inch up in the air behind him. This is some terrible footwork. Velasquez isn't looking very good - but he's the busier, faster, harder puncher. Pose is somehow hanging in there, though. 20-17 Velasquez
Round 3 Pose tries to hammer out some distance with his jab, but fails to impress Velasquez, whos swarms him to the ropes and unloads on him with hooks and uppercuts. Pose is taking a tremendous amount of punishment but defending just enough for the referee to hold off from intervening. Pose looks to clinch but is unable to keep the buzzsaw off him. Velasquez flurries on him a few more times as the cuts on Pose's face worsen, and finally the ref decides he may as well jump in there. TKO3. Argentine boxing, wham bam thank you ma'am!
