Round 1

Hamilton is tossing jabs up at the taller Hamilton and bouncing away behind a high guard, boxing well from the outside despite the height and reach disadvantage.

Round 2

More of the mobile attack from Hamilton, stinging Ryan with the up-jab to the face while staying just at a quick lean's distance from all of Ryan's slashing counters. Pushing in with his forearms held up and earmuffs wrapped tight around the back of his head, Hamilton braces off Ryan and bounces away to keep boxing in rhythm from range. Ryan keeps walking forward until the jab penetrates and zaps him back a step. Little offense getting off for Ryan, but he's trying to let his long arms go when he can.

Round 3

Ryan comes forward intently, leading with his left hook to try and hold off Hamilton's movements to the right. Now Ryan is scoring with long srtaight jabs. Hamilton gets himself leveraged low on Ryan against the ropes and shoulders him at the midsection, pushing Ryan through the ropes and tangled between them until the referee can assist with extrapolation. Hamilton is now flurrying a bit wildly with left and right overhand slaps en route into a clinch.

Round 4

Hamilton is creeping in with a high guard, looking for openings and then floating back out of the way of Ryan's jab. Hamilton waves his left arm in short circles, slap-parrying Ryan's feinted and half-hearted push-jabs aside. Tentative circling, and Hamilton waves in with a jab before a clinch. They separate and come right back together exchanging furiously, with Hamilton getting in digs to the body but Ryan landing a solid left hook to the jaw. Hamilton keeps ducking in low and rising with up-jabs, putting some spring into them.

Round 5

Hamilton is hustling in, clapping in from the sides - high with his left and down at the hip with his right forearm, and clasping Ryan tight when the taller man tries to fold up his arms and hammer at him on the inside. Hamilton backs Ryan up to the ropes with jabs and alternating-lever flurries, resembling nothing more than a workman driving a crane...except without the crane itself. Ryan is getting pushed around and out-jabbed by the smaller man.

Round 6

Jabs and clap-around two-pieces from Hamilton soaring in on Ryan, then hugging and squaring his palms against him and propelling back out of range. Hamilton showing a good versatile defense, ducking and bobbing all while keeping his arms up but spread just enough apart to keep a watchful eye on Ryan and set up his flurrying attacks. Ryan is once again pushed back to the ropes as Hamilton puts all his weight driving forward just above Ryan's waist. The referee has his hands full keeping them pried apart and not in a tangle on the ropes. Hamilton grabs and wrestles Ryan back to the ropes once more and works him over with free-hand body shots as Ryan struggles to just get his arms up.

Why wouldn't Choi be the main event? :huh I've never heard of either of these two in the ring now.

 

Round 7

Jabbing battle from the outside. Tape replaced on Hamilton's glove. Jab battle resumes, with Ryan held upright and throwing his long and straight while Hamilton adopts a wide and low base with his rear foot and front foot lunging out as he throws line drives. Now Hamilton gets Ryan in a bit of trouble just shoeshining to the chest and head, and boxes his ears a bit with short clapping shots as Ryan tries to cover up and lean in. Hamilton is pushing him back and flurrying even more, but may be punching himself out. Hamilton is heaving as he now leans against Ryan and rests.

Round 8

Hamilton changes levels with his jab - throwing it up high while standing mostly straight and leaned a little off to one side coming forward, then squatting in and dropping it on Ryan's tattooed stomach. Ryan waves a jab at him from too far away as Hamilton circles out for a breather, and then bashes his way in with a sloppy side-winding right that just crashes into Hamilton's back as they collapse together. Ryan is spun to the ropes and covers up as Hamilton flurries on him. Low blow by Hamilton during a sequence of body shots, unseen by the referee due to his viewing angle from the other side behind Hamilton. Ryan holds his left arm out, as though to touch gloves and indeed bounces his knuckles lightly off Hamilton's a few times as they float out before him, measuring.
