On another site that I post far more regularly on, they came up with their list of "Immortals" as their own Hall of Fame without it being watered down. The list consists of 35 names and I thought that I would put it up for dissection on this site:

    Bob Fitzsimmons
    Jack Dempsey
    Joe Walcott
    Jimmy Wilde
    Harry Greb
    Joe Gans
    Abe Attel
    Tony Cansoneri
    Henry Armstrong
    Barney Ross
    Benny Leonard
    Mickey Walker
    Gene Tunney
    Tommy Loughran
    Joe Louis
    Billy Conn
    Rocky Marciano
    Sugar Ray Robinson
    Willie Pep
    Archie Moore
    Ezzard Charles
    Manuel Ortiz
    Sandy Saddler
    Charley Burley
    Muhammad Ali
    Roberto Duran
    Alexis Arguello
    Michael Spinks
    Ray Leonard
    Tommy Hearns
    Marvin Hagler
    Ricardo Lopez
    Pernell Whitaker
    Julio Cesar Chavez
    Manny Pacquiao

What criteria are we allowed to dissect upon?

    1. MUST have been THE MAN in at least one division for an extended period of time. Exceptions for race and family issues.
    2. MUST have at least 17 wins over ranked fighters.
    3. MUST have been "fully tested." That means the guy cannot have say 3+ guys he should have fought and didn't. The three is negotiable.
    4. MUST have winning record against championship quality competition.

Those were the rules used in determining it. Really it sounds like depth of resume.

whys pac there then i personally have no problem with it but using your criteria he wasent "the man " in any division for "an extented period of time" well i supose that depends on you definition of extented but i see that as 5/6 maybe 7 fights

Tip: Post this in Classic. I'm not being sarcastic to you but what I mean is unless you want this to go 7000 pages of 'debate' as to why all 35 spots should be reserved for the Klitschko's and their amazing modern trained, modern nutritionally fed opponents or not then it's a really good idea.

I didn't actually vote on it because I do not know enough about boxing prior to about 2003 lol. I just wanted to see the reaction on a higher traffic forum.
