35% of Canelo money still many times more than 60-70% percent of BJS or Jacobs money

With the Canelo fight he could make more than 20 million, with Jacobs or BJS not even 5. And the media interest and the hype would be much higher also, so he will be more recognized, bigger fanbase, bigger sponsorship money etc.

He is getting "only" 35% percent because without Canelo he would never do higher PPV than 300-400K, and Canelo would do at least 500K with smaller names likes Spike.

Canelo-GGG did 1.3M, Canelo-Cotto and Canelo-Chavez was 1M PPV, Golovkin-Lemieux and Golovkin-Jacobs did 150K PPV so not Golovkin is selling the tickets here.

I hate Oscar, Gomez and Canelo, but they would be stupid to offer 50% for Golovkin. Pacquiao got 35 also against Mayweather, McGregor (he sold that circus) got around 25%. Wilder wont get 50 also. Thats not how it works.

Both men should fight one another for several reasons; from a boxing perspective, both men have a chance to remove any doubt from a contentious first fight. Clenelo did far better than anybody expected but only in the sense that he didn’t get ktfo like so many GGG fans thought he would. Clenelo knows that most people thought he lost and the Byrd card is a **** stain on what good work he actually did. Golovkin needs to show that he hasn’t aged and will go to the body next time (easier said than done).
From a money perspective both men will make far more fighting each other than anybody else. Probably 10 million more each...at least.
From another perspective combining both of the above, not only will neither of them make as much fighting Jacobs, Sergei D, Charlo etc but those guys are capable of upsets or at least taking some shine away for Golovkin and Alvarez should they struggle.
Clenelo still has the trump card in that he’s the A side but his hand isn’t as strong as it was. He’s perceived by more fans now as a diva who banks as heavily on corrupt scoring as he does his punching. He’s also tested positive for PEDs and only a few fans think that was an honest mistake. While he is an A side, he’s not an A side in the Tyson / Oscar / Floyd / Joshua sense. He’s not going to sell a million ppvs by fighting Spike.

I think he should accept 60/40, not 35

He should be getting 40-45. He’s asking for 50 to likely get that number.

DLH doesn’t want Clenelo to get that work. We all know this.

If you believe DLH is calling Jacobs and Saunders and other members of the Murderers Row at 160, I got a bridge to sell you in NY.

What kind of difference 5% makes? 2-3 more or less million? Maybe the fight wont happen now, if GBP are serious.

With this request maybe he priced himself out til next May as Canelo is fighting only 2 times a year. By that time he will approach to 38. Of course he will not fight Jacobs or Saunders, those fights will never happen, he will fight against Spike.

And this time the PPV will be around 2-2.5M (last time the MayMac circus 3 weeks before wasnt good for the fight), so this 35% means 20-25 million for Golovkin, and he does not seem to that kind of guy who goes crazy for money.

Don't forget Floyd v Canelo. 2.4 mil buys and that wasn't just because of Floyd

Very true. However, also note that 50% vs Golovkin is still more for Canelo than any other fight.

I don't have a problem with asking for 50% as a negotiating tactic but he's got to be willing to accept something less, like 40-45%.

El Pollo does not want to fight Golovkin, esp. without his PEDS! El Pollo looks like someone stuck a pin in a balloon since El Pollo quit PEDS. El Pollo is blaming Golovkin on having to take VADA testing! Golovkin beat El Pollo in the first fight, it took Oscar's cheating judges to make it a draw! Golovkin is the biggest fight El Pollo can get, El Pollo will make the most money fighting Golovkin because he LOST to Golovkin period and everyone knows it!
