Damn. Flores' eyelids look like they've boasted as many deep cuts as he's had years of pro experience in the ring...maybe more.

He looks almost like a Mexican and more handsome version of Teddy Atlas.

 

The main course is served! No appetizers!

Jose Alfredo Flores is in the ring, waving to the crowd and squinting at them between the ruins of flesh that engulf his peepers.

Now Mora trots out in an ostentatious silver robe to some G-rap.

Flores' body is almost hairless. He's like something out of Roswell.

He is in more than decent shape for his age. He seems happy about something. Maybe just the payday, whatever peanuts-in-the-shell GBP is giving him? Maybe he has a game plan to spring the upset?

 

Lou Moret always seems like he should be a department store Santa, not a ref.

He's got a very gentle and mild-mannered sort of authority.

 

Round 1

Mora flicks out several fast jabs, showing off a little. Some drunk hooligan starts up a loud "MORA! MORA! MORA!" chant and Sergio becomes self-conscious, slowing down and just jabbing out at the body from outside while circling and giving Flores a bit more space and respect. Flores throws some probing shots and misses, but connects with an intentional rabbit punch at the bottom back of Mora's hairline as they clasp together. Mora is circling left now, leveraging off the ropes as he spoils by ducking and elbow-blocking. Mora lands a quick salvo of jabs and rights reaching over, but Flores lands a hard 1-2 of his own right on Mora's nose and makes his next step a bit less than firm. Another right hand by Flores makes partial contact. Flores drops a straight left hand to the body and Mora falls down against the ropes! Mora looks annoyed, and immediately waves his hands "no" to the crowd at ringside. It's ruled a slip even though a shot landed.

Round 2

Mora takes some right jabs against his arm and fires back with a lead right. Flores is coming forward and throwing a great deal of punches, surprisingly active in there for a near forty year old. Mora is dipping and ducking while circling out and is staying off most of Flores' shots but is getting ever so slightly marked up all over his face. Flores is walking through Mora's jab, but taking hard looping rights that he doesn't see coming and that rock his head a bit. Mora hugs immediately afterward every time he connects hard. He also hugs every time Flores backs him to the ropes with punches. Good straight left by Flores. NICE right jab lands flush for Flores! 1-2! Mora is covering up against the ropes but getting drilled! A little hurt?? Playing possum? Flores keeps punching!
