Round 2

López is jabbing in on his opponent while the Filipino drifts into the ropes, swatting outwardly with defensive arm-punching hooks without putting any torque from his legs into them. López is doubling the jab into Ortizo's guard and bashing down with the right hand from on high. Ortizo doing an okay job circling left and blocking, however offensive success is proving hard to come by. Ortizo squats very low and makes López overreach and miss with some downward lunges, but is then unable to capitalize himself as he misses his own smattering of straights at point blank while straightening up.

Round 3

López is catching the looping frontfoot combos of a suddenly aggressive Ortizo in the rotated palm of either mitt and jogging backward to line up jabs and 1-2s. Ortizo is flicking jabs while applying pressure from a tall upright stance. López is widening his base and taking short hopping steps across the ring, keeping symmetry in his limb positioning, and flicking jabs up into the air. Ortizo connects on a few bashing right hands on the shoulder & side of the neck while closing in on López. Double jab and right cross just barely misses for Ortizo. López falls, slip. Right hand lead and left hook graze for Ortizo as he jumps in. Jab and clubbing right against the nape & upper back scoring for Ortizo. López throws a wild right hand up in the air meeting Ortizo in the middle of the ring but misses.

Round 4

López is now utilizing greater variety of movement, luring Ortizo to all four corners to alternately double his jab or leap halfway in on him, slashing down at him with both arms while letting his upper body collapse like a ragdoll in the same direction as the momentum of each sequence's first shot. Ortizo just following, almost plodding now, pushing jabs, throwing long right hands from too far out with very little snap and resembling nothing so much as someone tapping on the clock button in a game of timed chess.

Round 5

López is hooking off the jab at short range as Ortizo rushes him. López is cut over the right eye, possibly from a head clash. Ref has a look. Time in. López is repelling Ortizo with quick backfoot jabs, snapping them out and extending his fist out past his lead foot. Ortizo is ducking in, wearing earmuffs, weaving side to side, dodging the counter jabs of López pretty well, but his stuff thrown on the way in misses badly and he isn't able to find any gaps to exploit while López is punching. Ortizo winging right hands up top and easily being deflected with López simply raising his left arm in the way, bent at the elbow. Two-piece by López, following with another but hitting Ortizo's crossed forearms.
