Straightforward shutout. Robles brought a large cheering section but I'm not sure how much upside he has as a prospect.

Deckmann just got KD’d hard twice on his way to a UD loss against the previously 1-7 Jamel Reynolds, who proceeded to make a bit of an ass of himself on the microphone afterwards (although he was kind of prodded into it by a booing crowd and an exceptionally rude/obnoxious Cynthia Conte)

Yeah, exposed Deckmann as having Khan-like defense and chin. Honestly even his offensive skills/instincts weren't that great. He looks the part, big fit solidly built rangy guy - but Deckmann showed nothing to suggest that Freddie Roach isn't wasting time on him when there's real prospects like Darchinyan for him to focus on.

He just got a bit hostile, was being grabby with the mic and it was kind of hard to watch. He was talking about how he’s never actually lost a fight and you only win in boxing when you sell 1,000 tickets. He probably has a point but when you’ve just had your biggest professional moment and you’re in line for more work based on the performance, just ride the high of the win and cash in lol

"Filly" Rubalcava seems to be the biggest ticket seller on the card (and honestly the second-biggest draw is probably Robles and not either of the guys in the main event...folks might turn out for Brunson if this was east coast...and while Bohachuk is fairly popular in So-Cal for a foreign-born non-Latino, he doesn't exactly bring them out in droves)

10-9 Filly, controlling the pace, doing nice work on the outside with a quick sharp jab. Montoya dropping in some accurate over-the-wall right hands, though, getting a piece of Rubalcava even as he rolls with them moving away.

Montoya is 10-0 (9) but with a very padded record back home in Mexico.

Few isolated moments of drama but this is 90% a boring spar, advantage Rubalcava.

Eeeeey, spoke too soon, Montoya hurt Rubalcava with some body shots, brought the guard down, and planted some hard rights on his chin. Wrested the round from him in the second half.

    10-9 Montoya

    29-28 Rubalcava
