Round 1

Double jab by Infante. Gomez backs up and glides completely around Infante, making him whirl to keep up. Gomez edges his way forward and tosses some quick light jabs before darting back out. Gomez seems to be feeling Infante out, while Infante's offense seems more earnest. Hard jabs and a few rights by Infante, but not touching Gomez cleanly if at all (getting shoulder, bicep). Now Gomez picks up speed and lands a hard right hand that backs Infante to the ropes. Quick jabs by Gomez. Infante tries to bob side to side with his forearms up in front of his face. Gomez just takes aim and jabs between them no matter where Infante has himself fanned out. Long jabs by Infante, doing nothing. High parry jabs by Gomez. Infante drops a 1-2 and Gomez chucks up a left hook, canceling each other out as neither makes contact with anything but enemy glove.

Round 2

Infante puts forth his jab and circles to his right. The jab is straight and true but just not coming close as Gomez has it sighted and has a responsible defense consisting of both blocks and reflex-based elusiveness along with the good old fashioned emergency brake. Left hook to the navel area by Gomez, and Infante treats it like a low blow. Replay shows it wasn't. Infante keeps circling right, having jabs picked off. Left hooks and right hands are blocked or slipped as well. Gomez is content to just defend and flop up an occasional 1-2 in answer, but is doing the better quality work here. A couple of right hands bean Infante in the side of the head and he makes haste to back away.

Gomez is displaying his skill, but it isn't a star making turn so far.

 

Round 3

Infante misses jabs, but throws a slew of them while circling right. Gomez throws about a tenth as many and doesn't land much either but is effectively swatting away Infante's...and seems to be doing stretches to keep the blood flowing more than actually trying to track his jab to target. Good solid straight right hand by Gomez, surprised Infante. Another. More jabs missed both ways as they circle the round out.

30-27 Gomez

 

Round 4

Gomez pushes Infante back with his jab, snapping it out straighter and stepping through more aggressively with his lead foot. Infante misses jabs as Gomez uses some slick footwork, on a tiny invisible carousel around Infante and comfortably jabbing him in the face from the back of his saddled fiberglass unicorn. Gomez keeps jabbing and befuddling Infante with quick circuitous movement on the inside. Infante is scoring with the odd jab, but can't shut down the ride. Gomez has a pocket full of tickets!

40-36 EG

 

Infante looks grumpy on his stool.


"This round. This round, one of us is going to land something other than a jab. If I have to drop my hands by my sides and give him a freebie, so be it. ONE OF US will land something other than a jab. :twisted::twisted:"

 

Round 5

Quick right hand by Gomez! Infante is hurt! More rights hands by Gomez, and a few left hooks - all single shots by themselves. Infante is able to trot away each time he's hit and try to extend his jab defensively when he gets near the ropes. Gomez slides his back foot in and launches a hard uppercut. Infante is in a bad way!! Left hooks and hard clapping fishing-rod right hands by Gomez! Infante just won't go down! Body shots now!! Uppercut to the chin!! Infante takes it!! HE WILL NOT GO DOWN. No matter. Ref stops it.

 

Eddie "E-Boy" barf, seriously...there has gotta be something better) Gomez improves to 7-0 (6).
