Lots of clinching, as Arce keeps running in and clamping his arms around Angkota's waist. Pretty hideous action, in all honesty. Angkotta is coming at him with his left held low, jabbing him in the face. Arce keeps falling down. The referee has to extend his hand down to help him up after Angkotta bowls him over into a corner. Arce's equilibrium seems completely ****ed. :huh Did he get in a car accident this morning or something? Damn, on replay that...might have been a missed call KD for Angkotta? :blood
Round 11 Angkotta is all over Arce, jabbing with his right and clubbing down with lefts as Arce ducks in. Arce gets his brains rattled by short lefts hooks as Angkotta switches back from southpaw to orthodox and tees off on the big mess of hair that presents an inviting target in front of him. Arce slaps away at the body, trying to mount a comeback. Angkotta clutches his head between both gloves and drags him to the ropes by his temples, held as if in a vice grip. WILD trading back and forth, with Angkotta now backed up to the ropes! Both guys missing hooks and uppercuts, but a few getting through. Angkotta's uppercuts is especially effective, but their heads are coming together frequently as well and Arce is complaining a little. 10-9 Angkotta
So he banked rounds early and consequently tuckered himself out? :think I don't think he's in danger of losing by KO here in the 12th...but you never know. AA doesn't seem the least bit intimidated by him and is really bringing it.
Few things on twitter... For those who were watching HBO before switching over: Angkotta came out roaring. Arce had him nearly out in the 3rd but punched himself out Arce likely wasted all of his energy throwing nearly 150 punches (no joke) in round three.
Round 12 Arce comes forward, pouring shots out at Angkotta but missing a fair bit. Angkotta is countering wildly, missing as well. Arce is diving in, trying to ensnare Angkotta's arms in his own. Angkotta grips him in headlocks while stomping in reverse toward the ropes, trying to keep his balance as this crazy Mexican leans into him with his kinetic awkwardness. Angkotta is landing better inside. Angkotta walks Arce back across the ring, almost to the ropes. Rather than get trapped there, Arce dives in to grab. Angkotta peels his arms away and pushes him off. Arce tries again, diving lower and grabbing at Angkotta's legs and falling to his hands and knees. Slip. Final bell. Both mount sets of their supporters' shoulders and celebrate like they won. :think
Arce's barrage (150+ shots) secured him a 10-8 round and would have seen the fight stopped if it wasn't in Mexico, he then took round 4 off, lost round 5, won 6 and 7 then hugged through 8, 9th was probably Angkotto's
From what I hear, Arce basically swept all the early rounds, so the scores will probably be like 118-110, 117-111, 117-111 for Arce, just a guess though lol
How ironic! Good thing Arce isn't a Brit, huh? (or bad thing, from his perspective...I guess it depends on these cards about to be read...)
