How do you guys think the Joe Louis that Rocky knocked out would fare in today's HW division?

Mind you he wouldn't be very old in comparison to a lot of the contenders today.

Personally I think he makes it to the K brothers, and though I favor him by a bit, it could go either way

    What do you guys think?

Not that great, once Louis' timing and speed and combinations withered he wasn't that dangerous apart from a mean left hook. I still think he'd whup a solid portion of the top 10 though, just because most of them are really really limited.

  4. reznick,my friend. honestly, i think that you overrates joe louis... no way this version of louis would have chance against the klitschko brothers, especially against vitali. guys as haye or adamek would beat this version of louis. even a prime joe louis very very hardly might beat vitali klitschko. i know that vitali today is older than louis was against rocky. but every boxer is different. ali ,louis and tyson were pathetic in his late 30s,but vitali, lennox lewis, foreman(late 30S-EARLY 40s),larry holmes( in his 40s )were good

He´s still beat most of them. I guess Wlad would beat him though. Vitali, Haye, Povetkin I see as 50/50. I think he beats Adamek though.

joe or rocky would not even be anywhere near the point to even be rated, they would not even last one full round against a top ten fighter of today, wlad or vitali would clobber these guys right out of the ring via the top rope:think

  8. if you are talking on 37 years old louis really i am boring to see hipocrites as you on this forum.

you are simply ridiculous, you have no credibility .

if you are talking on prime louis still you have no credibility
i doubt that any version of louis would have knocked out to vitali klitschko. MIGHT PRIME LOUIS BEAT HIM? YES, BUT NOT BY KO, AND OF COURSE NOT IN THE FIRST ROUND, IT IS RIDICULOUS

Prime Louis could KO Vitali. He stopped guys with very very good chins and the poundage of a modern hw. Louis can potentially knock out any heavyweight, IMO. That's how accurate, explosive, and skilled he was. He also had the inside game and skills to deal with vitali's primary weapons, his jab and cross.

YOU'RE underselling Louis. I don't really think Louis even in his prime would KO1 the Klits either, that simply wasn't his style. He was patient, analyzed his opponents style and then destroyed them when he had the chance. When he did come roaring out the gates he did annihilate his opposition early

    Hayes last 8 opponents:

    Harrison 39 years old
    Ruiz over 38 years old
    Valuev over 36 years old
    Barret over 37 years old
    Maccarinelli 27,5 years old
    Mormeck 35,5 years old
    Bonin 33,5 years old
    Fragomeni 37 years old

Have you seen the entire Rocky Louis fight? Louis was definitely still a top competitor. I didn't say he would be dominating the K brothers, but he would be fighting close fights with them for sure

he wouldn't do very well at all.with only limited use of his right arm and only only a shadow of his former self speed wise.

  13. usually i agree with your opinions, but this time i disagree.
I am not underselling louis, because i respect the old champions, but i am realist and i am not hypocrite. Prime louis could not ko small guys as tommy far, perroni, nati brown.. Arturo godoy survived against him too.
Honestly i can see more possible that vitali knocks louis out than vice versa.
Vitali has better chin for sure, he is bigger, stronger, harder puncher with a single shot, louis had better combinations, vitali is not just big , he has skill too. And he can take a great shot. Louis could cut him and beat by tko
