Are there any heavyweights in history still active at 38 years old (or older) who you would expect to give today's Wlad Klitschko a hard fight at that age? Or even beat him ?

I can't think of any of the top of my head.

I can't see comeback George Foreman having much success against him.

Larry Holmes of 1988 or 1992 might be pose a few puzzles but I think he'd do well to fight a survival type fight and go the distance, at best. There's a clear chance Wlad would stop him though.

The Muhammad Ali of 1980 would be massacred.

The Holyfield who had a trilogy with Ruiz wouldn't pose much of a threat.

Vitali Klitschko ? I suppose he's the main threat here, in all of history. Which is quite remarkable !

Foreman, on the nights he ko'd Cooney, Rodrigues and Cooper all in 2 would level Wlad in 2 also.

How fast does he look for his age? It's crazy how fast he looks.

Oliver McCall as a long shot. He was still competitive at that age. He'd probably lose but he'd go the distance and he does have that big right hand.

Vitali Klitschko, who at 38 destroyed undefeated contender Chris Arreola, would be the main threat for sure, followed by Big George (who has only puncher's chance there).

Interestingly, both Klitschko brothers looked near their prime at the age 38, unlike every other great HW. Lewis was retired at 38, Holy was already shot and lost to Ruiz, Tyson lost to Danny Williams, Holmes was clearly not the same, even Foreman didn't look close to prime as he became clearly slower.

2003 Lennox Lewis would probably be most dangerous. Pulev did get in two good 1-2's, if those were LL right hands, it may have been a different fight.

Lewis was 37 in his last fight.
Anyway I don't think he'd do well against today's Wlad.
I think Wlad hits harder and more accurately than Vitali.

How about Corrie Sanders? He'd at least have a chance.

Perhaps Lewis if he had stayed active for another year.

    In other words, nobody.

How is a lumbering oaf like an old Foreman going to get into position on a guy with Wlad's footwork? Equating a washed up Cooney to Wlad is just ludicrous. No chance.

Recent compelling arguments have led me to believe that Sonny Liston was actually 38 when he was born, meaning he was actually world caliber as a senior citizen. Let's not forget that.

Only Lewis if he fought for another year. Holmes would be tricky but lose. Holyfield might push him or get schooled.

I would give Joe Louis an outside shot. Precision counters could trouble the big man.

Joe was 37 when he met Marciano, and fought well enough to show me he could still fight.
