    Round 1

Cruz steps in and nearly gets clipped by a looping right, flinching and staggering back off balance without being hit. Cruz walks Delgado back and just misses with a lead left. Double jab by Delgado on the back foot. Cruz stalks his way in and blocks a right hand up top. Right jab to the body by Cruz. QUICK left hand lead up top by Cruz. Delgado reaches in with a long combo, but Cruz slides back out of the way. Cruz is defending and circling, biding his time. Right jabs by Cruz. Delgado slaps out at Cruz's lead right hand with some deterrent hooks, but can't keep him from marching forward. Cruz is backing the bigger man up with pressure, not even throwing many punches. Body shot by Delgado diving in. Cruz nearly connects with a right hook. Delgado flees along the ropes and is caught with some body shots in quick combination. More quick body combos by Cruz in an exchange.

    10-9 Cruz

    Round 2

Delgado flips his jab up while circling and then catches Cruz with a flush right hand and forces him to hold! Cruz is flurrying away to the body and pressing himself in against the taller man, trying to bury him on the ropes. BIG shots by Delgado, wide looping power bombs to the head but he's landing them. Clinch. Body shots by Delgado. Cruz isn't getting many clean shots in, headhunting now and blasting away at thin air as Delgado leans back into the ropes and covers up.

    10-9 Delgado

    19-19

    :good

    This is shaping up nicely.

Ortiz vs. Mendoza (probably a savage knockout) should make for a pleasant nightcap on top of this.

BTW, this is scheduled for 12 with the WBO Latino featherweight title on the line.

The title doesn't have the proudest of lineages, with its two longest holders being Roinet Caballero and Jonathan Victor Barros (both so-so fighters) - but JuanMa Lopez did briefly hold it after annihilating Mike Oliver.

29-28 Cruz. This is gonna be a good fight. I think Cruz stops him late though.

    Round 3

HARD southpaw 1-2 by Cruz catches Delgado rushing in. Cruz is coming forward again, puffed up like a peacock with his shoulders at his ears. Delgado wings an overhand right and gets countered back with a jab. Delgado paws with his left jab and falls short, then collapses in behind a right down low. Glancing 1-2 by Delgado. Cruz is firing his right jab high and plunking down some lefts to the body, while ducking under Delgado's shots. Good body work by Cruz now, finding his rhythm and figuring out how to steer clear of the Delgado right using movement and strategic clinching.

    29-28 Cruz
