The main event is set to go. 12 rounds @ super bantamweight for the WBC Caribbean title.

 

Round 1

Gutierrez lands a left jab to the kisser, countering past two lazy jabs from Perez. Gutierrez is walking forward, blocking the jabs and rights of Perez on his ever-moving forearms. Long left hook by Gutierrez. Perez backs up and shrugs at him. Gutierrez blocks a right to the body on his elbow, and responds with some left jabs up top. Perez circles to his left and keeps his guard up. Jabs by Perez to facilitate a directional change. BIG LEFT HOOKS by Gutierrez, alternating to head and body. Gutierrez has the heavier hands here. Perez is launching some high jabs and rights in succession from outside, not wanting to get too close and feel those hooks again. Gutierrez backs him up with a hook and right hand up top. Right hand by Gutierrez. Perez holds. Perez flurries as they split apart.

Round 2

Gutierrez jabs down at the shorter man. Nice quick straight left jabs. Straight combos by Gutierrez coming forward. Perez is flurrying back at him, operating his fists like pistons. Underhanded flurry by Perez. Low blow by Perez, and he gets warned. Cuffing left and right hooks behind the head by Gutierrez as Perez presses in and bows his head. Jabs to the body by Gutierrez. Perez flurries up high at him, and tries to stay off the ropes.

20-18 Gutierrez

 

Round 3

Gutierrez is walking Perez down and landing solid jabs and rights hands to the face. The Colombian keeps trotting around to his left and throwing high straight flurries but suffering from his relative lack of reach (and his lesser hand speed...and power...) Gutierrez lands some thick left hooks to the body. Now right hands below the ribs. Jabs to the face. Gutierrez is picking Perez apart from medium range. Clubbing right by Gutierrez as Perez is trying to duck and scurry past him. Flurries by Perez while circling, and he barely gets his arms up to stop a powerful Gutierrez 1-2. Gutierrez walks him down to the ropes and throws a combo, with Perez jumping in to tie him up.

Round 4

Gutierrez is throwing jabs and whip-crack rights to the head as Perez tries to navigate around him and set up a short overhand right that simply doesn't work from long range (where Gutierrez is keeping him with the jab). BIG LEFT HOOK counter by Gutierrez in an exchange as Perez was fishing for body shots. Clinch. Most of a minute left. Gutierrez is stalking, landing jabs and rights to the face to get Perez backing straight up to the ropes. Now a towel-snap body shot by Gutierrez. Perez throws a wild combo surging forward, overhand rights and left hooks. The Mexican is hitting the Colombian harder, faster, and with more accuracy - but it's a two-way fight! :bbb

It looks like we were about a minute apart. Usually it takes me a minute to create a RBR thread, because it requires having three tabs open (one for Boxrec to ensure proper spelling of the principals' names, especially if I don't know them too well...another for searching through my posting history for my last RBR thread so I can copy/paste my disclaimer...and of course the third to post the new thread). Yours must have popped up during my prep time.
