Round 1

Nunez is circling in and putting up high jabs and some pecking body shots while rolling by. Sanchez is loading up and clapping down with right hand counters, clipping Nunez as he folds himself up.

Round 2

Nunez comes forward jabbing high again, circling in close like a gnat and getting clubbed with heavy counters that only make partial contact from Sanchez. That partial contact is more than enough as Nunez circles squarely into a big right uppercut that sends him reeling and a sitting duck for the follow-up hook that deposits him on his butt, stunned! He beats the count and starts moving in again, now to hold and whack Sanchez on the flanks. Sanchez tries to back out and hammer at him with a descending jab cocked up by his cheek. Nunez is pressing forward, but not attacking with his fists - just bending over to one side or the other and thrusting his body into Sanchez's middle.

Round 3

OH!!!!!!!! Now Nunez puts Sanchez down coming forward up off his toes with a hacking flurry to pry open an exchange, then landing big once with a murderous overhand right as Sanchez was loading up with his arms spread to throw wide and chin hanging out!!!!!!!!!!! Very early in the round!!

Sanchez isn't even beginning to rouse as the count gets underway...

NOCAUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :shock: One punch! What a turnaround!

Sanchez is helped to his stool and given water. He's a bit loopy.

Nunez is wearing a red war hat!!! (OK, it's just a red baseball cap with some indecipherable white text on the front...but let's just pretend it says war...)

 

It was so fast I had to wait for the slow motion replay (which took forever, thanks to TVM's low production value...lucky there even was one...)

It was very nice (especially put into context of the previous six minutes, which created the illusion of El Cientifico being a dead man walking), but I'm not sure about KOOTY. :think

 

Aristides "El Fusil" Quintero vs. José Hinestroza, 8 rounds @ light welterweight

 

Interesting, both of these Panamanians have nine wins and four losses with exactly eight knockouts. Hinestroza has two draws, which is one more than Quintero. He is also fourteen years his senior at 34.

OK, so having converted to normal units - the height different is about 5'10 to 5'7".

It looks like it could even be a tiny bit more than that (although whether Quintero is closer to 5'11 or Hinestroza to 5'6" it's hard to say)

Quintero circles outside and jabs, controlling distance. Hinestroza tries to jump inside and dig at his chest with left hooks, but doesn't succeed in staying on him. Quintero keeps circling out to his left and jabbing. Hinestroza jumps in with those hooks to the body and some high right hands in alternation, but Quintero is able to catch him in midair and toss him back into jabbing range.
