I don't care. Since GGG fights like 2x a year now, let's see the good fights. A couple of years ago they declined to sanction GGG / Munguia because it was such a mismatch. Let's see it now. Huge fight, big drama.

Shadow, the Mexican Fighter Protection Agency  You're doing Mexican fighters a disservice.

I bet Munguia would take that fight in a flash :deal:

Well if GGG wants to prove he's better than Canelo, then he should make sure he beats him in September. If GGG beats Canelo in September, then he'll be Undisputed at Super Middleweight and would have proved that he's better than Canelo. If he loses again to his rival, then Canelo will be confirmed better than GGG with 2 wins over him and GGG with 0 wins over Canelo in 3 attempts.

If GGG loses to Canelo again then KOs Lara it won't do anything to overcome losing twice to the man and being winless against him in 3 fights. And Lara would be 40 years old who is now flat footed compared to Prime fleet footed Lara who Canelo beat. So get that thought out of your head. If GGG wants to be seen as better than Canelo, he better beat him in September, otherwise that ship will have sailed for good.

Was that why? A couple years ago Munguia was at 154. In 2020 Munguia moved up to MW, putting Munguia straight in with GGG at that time would have been too much too soon. Munguia needed time to acclimate himself to Middleweight. Now he is a full fledged Middleweight and he would be ready for GGG. Honestly at this point GGG might have a harder time with Munguia than Canelo. And I say this because of Munguia's workrate. The kid is an absolute machine in there, I just can't see GGG outworking Munguia he would have to get him out of there most likely. Canelo unlike Munguia can actually be outpointed, as GGG almost did twice and Bivol just did.

So Canelo in my mind is more beatable on the cards than Munguia, but harder to stop and more dangerous as a puncher. If GGG fought Munguia in September instead of Canelo, I would like GGG's chances more. But after going to war again with Canelo, win lose or draw, GGG will take damage and to go into a Munguia fight after that would be even harder, especially if he takes another L to Canelo. His confidence would take a hit and it would be hard for the G man to turn around and get up for Munguia. If GGG beats Canelo, then he may stay at 168 as Undisputed Champ, and in that scenario GGG would feel unbeatable and I would like his chances against Munguia more. But if he loses to Canelo, I would stay away from Munguia if I were GGG. In that scenario, I would sign with PBC and go after 40 year old Lara and chase Undisputed at 160 then call it a day.

What's there to unify? It would be a regular defence for Golovkin, who is the 160 WBA/IBF/IBO champion.
    Lara is a regular contender.

And the answer to your question. Golovkin wins by KO8

Lara is WBA Regular Champ. Andrade is WBO Champ but is moving up to Super Middleweight, and there is a new interim WBO MW Champ Janibek Alimkhanuly, who is a Kazakh also. The path to Undisputed at Middleweight is complicated, but if GGG beats Lara, then Jermall could unify with Alimkhanuly, and the winners could fight for Undisputed.

With not a single vote for Lara thus far, with 24 voting for GGG by KO and only 2 voting for GGG by decision, that's overwhelming support for GGG by KO vs a fighter in Lara who has never been stopped before. Now I would tend to agree that GGG at 40 years old would be a big threat to Lara, but this goes to show how good and dangerous as a puncher people think GGG still is at 40.

Lara has the WBA regular belt and GGG will likely be stripped if he doesn't fight Lara. The WBA is phasing out the two belt system by making the guys fight.

    Yes
Munguia is huge at 160. The problem was his inexperience.
 Canelo starts 4 rounds up on the cards ...

I like GGG vs Munguia a lot. We should see that rather than Lara, imho.

He's polishing that rod till it gleams like chrome. Then he's gonna pretend GGG wasn't aged out by Canelo and is still prime at 40

If that\'s the case then I guess we will probably see it. Not a terrible fight (one that has been suggested by the more impressionable oin the forum that Golovkin avoided LOL) but not as good as others that could be made.

GGG probably wouldnt need them, but could GGG be able to hire Canelos judges that he used when he fought Lara? That always helps when you are fighting someone like Lara.
