Martin, and Alex Stewart would like to have a word with you. Foreman was a punching bag in the 90s, other than his hail mary shot against Moorer(a fight he was clearly losing) He looked lost against every good fighter he faced. He made guys like Savarese, Stewart, Grimsley and even Martin(less so) look good! So you're telling me these guys can go the distance with Foreman, hold their own, and arguably win in a few of them but Wlad gets destroyed? Laughable. 90s Foreman is extremely overrated, as far as Wlad not being able to take his shots, maybe you should revisit the Morrison fight. Schultz fight deserves a mention as well, robbery that Foreman clearly lost.. Who btw was absolutely destroyed by an upandcoming Wlad. Not that I agree with triangular logic, but just thought i'd throw that out there. :good
Foreman was 43 against Alex Stewart and near 46 against Shultz. Bringing the Stewart fight into question exposes you as a boxrec warrior. Foreman battered Stewart with shots early on that would put Wlad to sleep for a month. He was lucky to survive the second round. He was also a very busy mover and combination puncher. He also LOST that fightatsch Wlad does not survive full clean power shots on the chin like Stewart did. Wlad spends large swaths of every round looking to clinch. He is in a clinch almost every 10-20 seconds. Thats large portions of rounds where he is in - active. If you think he can do this against Foreman , you really don't know anything about either fighter. You had to be an elusive lateral mover and keep the bout in constant mostion to out point Foreman over 12. Wlad doesn't fit that description.
I don't see much of a difference between that an the 39 year old version of George, if anything he became a little bit sharper in his early-mid 40s as he had to shake the rust out a bit. But we're talking about a guy who lost every major fight he had during that period except Moorer, and that's a fight he was losing badly. Lots of guys who weren't even elite arguably outpointed Foreman during that period, you're letting your hatred towards Wlad blind your judgement. He has little more than a punchers chance against Wlad, and that's that. You think guys like Savarese, Stewart, Schultz(who was pretty solid I admit) can go 12 with Foreman(10 in the case of Stewart) Wlad can't? Foreman really did nothing great in his comeback besides land a hail mary punch against Moorer, and that's that. Lost to every good fighter he faced, and arguably some who weren't even that good. Wlad beats him with relative ease. As any reasonable boxing fan, who's objective as possible and not blinded by hate can clearly see.
Lost every major fight:huh He lost two out of 30 scrubbing away the robbery to Biggs when he was nearly 50. Those losses were to Holyfield at his absolute best and Morrison who fought a great fight- the best fight of his career . Foreman of 39 was a beast. He wasn't getting out pointed. He was blasting guys into oblivion. He lifted Bert Cooper clean off his feet with a single body blow and made him quit after one round. Copper who later floored and gave hell to prime Holyfield. The right hand that destroyed Adílson Rodrigues was as good as any Wlad has thrown. Jennings wouldn't have lasted more than 6 rounds against Foreman. His high guard left him open to devastating bolo punches and body shots. This hail Mary rubbish further exposes you as a casual boxrecer. Are you saying it wasn't Foreman intention to land a bomb on Mooer. Did he throw the punch by accident? No, he set Moorer up , as that was his gameplan. Go watch the fight for yourself. Teddy Atlas is telling Moorer he was being set up. Atlas knew it was coming and later said they were un able to do anything about it. Professional boxers don't throw shots for no reason. Learn the sport ffs. Wlad never faced power like this in his life. Foreman is a different level. He'd be quivering in pain from the body attack alone , never mind a full flush shot on the chin. Wlad doesn't have a back foot game to out box Foreman. They will meet . Often. And you are going to get messed up bad in the wheel house against such a brute savage. Holyfield and Morrison weren't stupid enough to reach in an clinch Foreman. These are observations based on reality , they're not based off my opinions of Wlad.
I still think Wlad's chin is questionable, these guys he is fighting just haven't been able to reach it. I think the first couple right hands whizzing past his head put Wlad in panic mode. I like Wlad, but I think George ko's him. P.S. It was a massive left hook that ko'd Adilson Rodriguez
Schultz robbery come to mind? Wow. Foreman at 39 looked great blasting out journeyman, and hasbeens. That mean's he beats Wlad :rofl You say Jennings couldn't have lasted more than 6 with the old Foreman, even though journeymen Mark Young and Bigfoot Martin were both able to last most than 6. I'd say Jennings is athletic, and mobile enough to possibly beat the old version of Foreman, anyone who think's otherwise really should have a look at his fights during that period to see how much he slowed down, and his struggles against limited opposition. Morrison's chin was even worse than Wlad's... His defense wasn't exactly superb, he could be hit and dropped by subpar competition, he had troubles outside of the ring... It was mostly his youth and athleticism that beat Foreman, he was too quick and mobile for him. For someone who's 6'6 and pushing 40 Wlad moves extremely well, maybe not as quick as a young Morrison, but good enough to avoid Georges power and rack up the points over 12 to a comfortable decision win.
Its not nearly as bad as you saying Wlad would stop Foreman when he couldn't even drop a novice in Jennings. And I keep telling you Foreman was 46 against Shultzatsch. Vitali looked dreadful at 42 against an utter bum. Wlad won't be much better at that age. :rofl:rofl This is self ownage. Jennings can't even turn over his punches properly. Morrison fought and won with a broken jaw. It was not worse than Wlads. He also kept composure better when hit , a major weakness in Wlad. Too quick and mobile yet he still got tagged flush. By your own admittance , Wlad is not as mobile and quick on his feet and Morrison , so wouldn't you think Wlad gets hit more than Tommy did? This 80s Foreman had more spring in his step than the one Tommy fought. Go watch the first round of the Pulev fight. Wlad gives Pulev a tango dance around the ring for pretty much the full round. He doesn't out box anybody clean on the back foot. Statistics show Wlad is engaged in long clinches in every round. 180 against Povetkin. That far too much time to be spending up close against Foreman. He gets knocked out.
Show me where I said Wlad WOULD stop Foreman. I said he'd probably UD him with the POSSIBILITY of a late stoppage. VItali looked dreadful against an utter bum? You mean the guy he knocked down, busted up and won every round against easily? As far for Wlad getting hit more than Morrison because he's not quite :tiredsound, has a longer reach and a better ability to fight at distance, that makes up for the difference in speed. Wlad usually clinches against smaller opponents. Fact. In fights against tall heavyweights, even ones taller than himself his relies less on the clinch. Wlad often clinches as a response to his opponents bullrushing with the head down(an illegal tactic mind you!) Wish is something Povetkin did A LOT in their fight, and Jennings himself didn't stray away from. Tell me... Do you see Big George trying that? I don't think so. It would be a battle mostly at range, Foreman might try to get inside every now and then.. But I think Wlad would be able to keep him in a jabbing/distance battle which he would most certainly win.
Thats a falsity. Watch round 3 vs Calvin Brock. Wlad barely throws a punch. He hugs the entire round. And that was 2007 when Wlad supposedly was at his very best. In fact in those first 4 rounds , Wlad was out boxed and out jabbed by Brock. Watch the first Thompson fight. Wlad is engaged in multiple clinches every round. He clinched him to death. The only big guy he never clinched was Wach , because he was made to order for Wlad by just standing there. Wlad holds on for his life against every and any body that comes forward. He will reach in to grab Foreman and he will be punished for it.
