Round 1

Cherry lands some big hooks lying in wait as Martinez falls in with lunging jabs and rights over the top. Left and right hooks by Cherry scoring to the ribs and sides of the head. Martinez keeps firing and forcing the fight, but getting outlanded.

Round 2

Cherry lands the left jab from outside. Uppercuts by Martinez. Cherry is hanging back and blocking. Cherry boxing tall even though I think he's giving up an inch to Martinez...or they're the same height. Cherry's squatting and leaned posture makes it hard to tell. Cherry lands nice jabs and shovels a right to the body. Whipping right to the head by Martinez. Hooks by Cherry backing Martinez up. FLUSH right hand lead by Cherry. Clinch after a wild exchange with both missing. Martinez is grabbed and spun.

20-18 Cherry

 

Round 3

Martinez is landing better now, patiently timing the uppercuts from outside in a half-crouch. Rights to the body as well by Martinez. Cherry just walks forward and misses jabs as Martinez slips to either side. Right crosses by Cherry catch Martinez on the side of the throat but miss his head. Good counters by Martinez, sniping the body with right hands and staying low, moving around. Cherry keeps stepping in and missing his 1-2.

Round 4

Martinez is boxing on the outside, chasing away the bold charges of Cherry by drilling into the side of his head with well turned-over left hooks. Martinez is dancing around, spying Cherry and setting him up for jabs and rights booby-trapped along his path. Body shots by Martinez. OOH, slapping right to the jaw by Cherry. Martinez still has to watch out for that power. WILD sloppy exchange, with Martinez leaned back above the waist and just flinging out wide shots as Cherry lunges in at him. Damn!! :bbb

Round 5

Cherry jabs his way in, and gets CLOCKED with an overhand right. Straight right lead by Cherry! Clinch. Cherry hooks out of the pocket. Martinez has his left hand low, jabbing up at Cherry as he approaches. right hand by Martinez!! left hook by Cherry! Good action. Martinez walks Cherry back and lands his jab. Cherry leans back and makes Martinez miss a lunging 1-2. Hooks by Cherry while backing up with his hands down, missing. Clinch.

48-47 Martinez

 

Round 6

Martinez is putting on an outside body punching clinic. Right hands from long range, slipping the jab of Cherry. Martinez circles left and flails his way in with some high clapping shots to the sides of the head as Cherry freezes in place and covers up. Jabs by Martinez while circling left. Nice footwork by Martinez. Counter left hook by Martinez as Cherry tries to power-jab in. Clinch. Martinez circles right, slipping jabs. Cherry triples his jab and gets ducked. Right hand by Martinez, but Cherry throws with him and lands a hook to the jaw. Martinez circles left, ducking more jabs. Wild looping right by Martinez is ducked by Cherry. Up-jabs from the hip by Cherry miss as Martinez moves left. Big overhand right by Martinez. Left hooks traded, both landing, Cherry's harder.

Caught up to within 8-9 minutes of real time now, thanks to fast forwarding through the minute-long commercial breaks between rounds.

 

Round 7

Cherry jabs in and throws rainbow rights. Wide shots by Martinez from outside, not as accurate as before. FLUSH 1-2 by Cherry, rocking Martinez's head nearly out of alignment! Cherry the aggressor, turned sideways and jabbing up from the hip. HARD RIGHT HAND BY CHERRY! There's that Cherry Bomb. Martinez clinches. Cherry circles right, dodging a Martinez 1-2 to the body. Cherry stalks. Martinez misses a wide left hook from outside with his feet planted. HARD COMBO BY CHERRY. Martinez clinches and taps the body lightly.

Round 8

Cherry jabs and moves left. Cherry has a bounce in his step, having found his second wind in the 7th. Cherry is leaning over to one side, popping jabs up at Martinez. Rights to the body by Martinez miss. OOH, caught Cherry circling with a stray right upstairs. Martinez barely taking aim anymore, just winging shots across. Cherry easily scouts most of them and sidesteps, popping jabs with his shoulders drooping low. Cherry circles left then quickly stops on a dime and goes right while landing a right hand lead. Cherry gets a bit too fancy, too cocky, caught by Martinez's lead right. OH!!! CHERRY WOBBLED, CAUGHT OFF BALANCE BY ANOTHER RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Martinez attacks with overhands. Cherry slides his feet back , not even lifting them off the mat. Body shots by Cherry, now keeping his fists up under his chin. Cherry rolls and weaves as Martinez throws long shots at him. BIG COMBO BY CHERRY, trying to put a stamp on the round and erase the memory of Martinez hurting him!!

Round 9

Cherry jabs in on Martinez, but takes an uppercut to the underarm. BIG RIGHT HAND BY CHERRY. Jabs by Cherry on the front foot. Cherry leans to either side, jabbing up high. Martinez is out of ideas, flopping in and leaning against Cherry, tying up. Exchange toward the bell..

Round 10

Left uppercut to the body by Martinez. Cherry pumps his jab into Martinez's face. Martinez circles left and tries to hook out long at Cherry but gets countered by the 1-2. Cherry coming forward, looking strong. Slapping hooks and straight jabs by Cherry, doing most of his work with the left and cheating his body away to make a smaller target. Martinez dives in and holds. Ref splits them. Martinez flaps at the body as Cherry flurries high and they clinch. Cherry lands a BIG RIGHT HAND to the face. Another clinch. Left hook by Martinez. Right hand, left hook, right hand, right hand by Cherry. MASSIVE POWER COMBO!!!
