I hope you can make 170 without problems and can take about 200 punches from Hopkins without getting serious brain damage... :think

    I know I couldn't.

now the weight isnt a problem - but i think i can cut down on the 200 punches by going down quick in the first (not totally by choice) - i'll take cash up front

I would LOVE my career to be ruined for 3MM right now :rofl :rofl

I would cry my way to find a different job after it.

i dont actually think it was career wrecking (potentially career defining) - its not like he was knocked out badly by a nobody (amir). He was taught a lesson by a master craftsman and got paid for it - now its up to him and his skillset and learning to see if he can come back and move onto defining a quality career.

I actually thought Hopkins talk at the end (not the shouty shouty business) was quite respectful to Pavlik's potential.

I'm sure you'll recall that you and I went round and round over Pavlik/Hopkins. You were right. I was wrong.

Here's what I don't get about these idiots coming on here and calling Pavlik a hype job, saying he was exposed, et. I'll lay it out this way:

Alexis Arguello lost his first fight at 135 to Vilomar Fernandez; a guy I'm sure most of these assholes never heard of.

Tommy Hearns lost 2 fights to Iran Barkley, and Barkley isn't qualified to wash BHop's jock.

Tyson lost a fight to a 42 to 1 underdog in Buster Douglas.

Pavlik loses one fight to a an ATG while fighting 10 pounds over his normal weight, and suddenly he's a bum.

I can only conclude that there are an awful lot of posters on ESB who don't know jack **** about boxing.

He needs to go back to 160...i think he was psychologically intimidated from the start.

No matter what we disagreed on we can agree that Pavlik is still the man at 160.His future is still promising !

I guess my anger and passion was directed at the very same thing that pisses u off now about Kelly being a hype job ..

So much disrespect for Hopkins from people like you said who didn't know jack **** about boxing !

I had that same feeling. He looked pensive in the locker room, and then when he did not come out with guns blazing in the first round, I thought there might be a psyche problem.

Look as bad as it looked he didn't really take a beating in there.

Will his confidence be rattled? No doubt but some tune ups and good showings can improve that. Hell guys lose their confidence all the time in other sports and come back.

Look I've never seen Abraham fight, but I'm sure he isn't as slick as Hops, I highly doubt he will be able to time Pavlik like Hops did. Obviously I can't say for sure but you get my drift.

You truly don't know boxing. He LOST a fight. It's not the end of his career. He will back at middleweight to provide fans with great, exciting fights. You can't blame the guy -- he lost to a legend and made 3 million -- that goes a long way in Youngstown, Ohio.

The ironic thing here is that during the Rubio/Ornales fight everyone I watched the fight with was talking about how neither guy belongs in the same ring with Pavlik.

Bob Arum is now saying that Rubio will be Pavlik's next fight; probably in February.. That's his WBC mandatory. People will accuse Pavlik of ducking Abraham, but it's a smart move. Abraham will still be there next summer, and I have seen AA fight: Trust me; he's no BHop.
