Vitali mentioned that multiple times. He kept saying he'd be an idiot to get in the ring with Wlad because his brother would hand him the beating of a lifetime.

While most thought he was joking I think he wasn't.

Before Wlad´s last fight they showed a video message of his brother and there Vitali said that Wlad is the best out there, better than any other fighter ... they are brothers ans just nice to each others.

I think you are correct, he is definitely starting to come into his own with the domination of this era. Personally, i think his win over this Chageav gave him the biggest leap, of any of his victories in this era.

Still, I am not sure it is yet 100% correct to say that he has dominated his era. It is undeniable that his brother has cleaned up the guy who beat him, on at least two occassions, and while the favour was returned once with Chris Byrd, the Vitali loss was better than each of the 3 Wlad losses. In fact, if they were not brothers or friends, it is almost certain that Vitali would have at least one win over Wlad, in the earlier days. Who would win now, noone knows.

Back to the original question, i dont think that it is possible to know who the 4 best guys to enhance Wlads legacy is, because this will ultimately depend on how these guys perform once Wlad retires. Haye for example would seem a big win now. But if he were to get KO d by Adamek, Povetkin, and Chris Arreola, in his next three fights, it would be a nothing win, literally. And that isnt too far fetched. Same goes with Adamek.

I think that Povetkin is probably the best fighter to face, as he seems a little more proven. I am not sure who else is guaranteed to improve his all time legacy, although obviously Vitali would be the ideal choice. Basically, it will depend on how his opponents go in the future. And i think with Chageav, chambers, Peter he has done well and he can only keep knocking them down.

From a purely legacy fight, i think that David Tua would actually tell us a lot. A first Class chin and a guy who will definitely take and test Wlads power. First class power, who will test his chin and his new Clinching style better than anyone else. Tua, when closer to his prime was outclassed by Lennox, and he hasnt done enough to earn a shot and Wlad should outclass him in a similar fashion. But, this would give us a good comparison between Lennox and himself. I think it is the best fight to enhance his legacy, particularly if he were to a few of Tuas punches in his stride.

I agree. But case can be made that he never lost during his Prime. And very odd loss to Brewster will be considered as one of the biggest condition fail of all-time(if you dismiss drug theory). He will get his credit only after he retires(same as Lewis and Holmes).

    You are full of ****.
Maskaev KO over Vitaly is Myth. cornet Stoppage due to injury.
Pele Reid Doed him with leg punch. Have you seen it? I doubt anybody could take that punch.
And Tua was KO'd in one round in amateurs, so what?
And NO, HE WAS NOT KD'd BY CORRY THE ****ING SANDER.

For Wlad , a win over Tua will prove nothing as it is certain. The most dangerous opponents for Wlad are Arreola (still and despite his last 2 losses) , Lamon Brewster , whom deserves a rubber match , Vitali of course , which will not happen .
A stoppage over the likes of Michael Grant , Lance Whitaker and Nikolay Valuev will mean more for wlad than a wide decision over Tua.

Haye , Povetkin and Adamek know themselves Wlad will beat them , and hence want no fight with him.

In reality wlad is simply almost lacking any options to enhance his legacy now. What he could achieve , he achieved , and he also failed where it was less expected. Had he lost to McCline it would have been more understood than losing to Lamon Brewster or Corrie Sanders.

yea he got caught by a quick southpaw puncher but he also took Sanders too lightly, heart is not an issue here it is chin. Difference when Vitali fought him he had the book on Sanders and was prepared for a fast start from the South African. Sanders was an underachiever but make no mistake about it avoided by many.

If anything I have too say Vlad corner pre- Manny was amateurish and did not do homework on opponents. Trying to KO Purrity and fighting 12 rds was a mistake, Vlad shot his load and ran out of gas. Vs Sanders he came in dry, cold and overconfident....Brewster again he aggressively went for the KO, ran out of gas and was caught. Big guys once hurt badly do not recover well and I base this on Lennox Lewis and Vlad (not Primo and Willard)....Vitali has not really been hurt, he has a chin but does not have the power of Vlad...he may be tougher or meaner. Vlad has improved but the test will come up again but I think even though more cautious like Pretty Boy Money Mayweather, Vlad has improved overall largely

I think in the Peter fight Vlad proved he could come back after being hurt and hurt Peter late. Vlad has improved with each fight.

By the way Janitor, Do you think he definitely deserves credit? I think that no matter what happens, it still depends a lot on his career. For arguments sake, what happens if he were to defend against say Shannon Briggs, and lose by Knockout. or What if he fights David Haye and is outboxed on points, without Haye really landing a big punch. There are still so many questions about Wlad. What if he drops from the first Tua punch, Tua lands. Actually what if Tua repeats the dose twice, like Sonny did to Liston. A loss to Ruiz, or Valuev might make his legacy interesting also. Ordinarilly you could write off this as a champion getting old or losing his chin, but i dont think it is that Simple with Wlad at this stage.

Tommy Burns? He was one of the worst heavyweight champs of all time in my opinion.
