Neither Klit survives a prime Corrie Sanders. Both bros. are BIG and average. Nothing special beyond size. If not for the popularity of the big three sports and the college subsidy neither guy would have a career. Semi-bums - "C" to "B" level athletes generously attributed.
I use to think Tyson easily but now not so sure. I still think Tyson beats Vitali on the cards but it would not be an easy fight.
Bonecrusher Smith, Razor ruddock, Lennox Lewis, hell even Frank bruno. Wlad got blitzed by Corrie Sanders and yo-yod by Lamon brewster. What the hell do you think Tyson would do. Wlad would be brutalized. Absolutely devastated. Even if he couldn't get to the chin in the first two rounds, he would destroy Wlads body. It's a terrible terrible matchup for Wlad. Keith
Dear "your smugness": You must be a fan of someone? I got it...you must be a Haye fan-right? Why not be a fan of Wlad? He's a great fighter as well as role model. Modern day boxing's not just for "gangsta's"
Yeah I'm not sure what happen to vitali's power. He seemed to punch harder early in his career. Look at the Kirk Johnson fight. Nothing wrong with his power in that fight. It's hard to say Tyson always seemed to have problems with bigger heavys. But no one has ever tried to go to Vitali's body like a prime Tyson would have. Wlad has the power to hurt a prime Tyson but I don't see him having the chin to hold up. Wlad may be one of those first round ko's. He can't handle pressure. I think Vitali would be a hard fight for Tyson But I see Tyson winning late probably on cuts.
If you don't think Wlad is a very good athlete with excellent skills, you are either a fool or simply unduly biased. Offensively, Wlad's repertoire compares favorably to the best heavyweights of the last thirty years or so. However, his defensive capabilities are merely adequate, while his chin is suspect. The combination of the two spell disaster against Tyson. Consequently, Tyson KOs Wlad. Vitali presents a more intriguing match-up. Asthetically, Vit can be painful on the eyes. He's awkwardly unorthodox, his motions are herky jerky, and he's essentially an arm puncher. On the other hand, he features an excellent beard, a certain fearlessness, and a style that, while not pleasing to watch, is pretty damn effective. He doesn't hit hard enough, in my opinion, to KO Tyson, but I could envision a scenario in which he could outpoint Iron Mike in a boring, punch-and-clutch type affair devoid of major fireworks.
Im sure Wlad is a lovely man but he has a **** resume with no wins over any elite opponents and has been beaten by some really terrible fighters showing no balls whatsoever in his fight with Chris Byrd. As for prime Tyson.... He'd demolish either Klitschko.
Are you mental? The fact you are here talking about him nearly 25 years after he won the title is enough to **** all over that theory. Also your second point sounds like Vitali and Wlad Klitschko to me!
who wins prime Jack Dempsey or Mike Tyson? see the idiocy? They fought exactly alike, that is why I hate these things... and we'll never know will we? Don't get me wrong, I'm no Klit fan either which shows the sorry state of the HW division these days, we still talk about Tyson because he was the youngest, brash, skilled, and differant not ATG in any book IMO
Im not a huge fan of comparing old and new fighters either but thats not the point im making. A lot of people may not have Tyson on their top ten ATG list but "a flash in the pan"?! Thats just wrong!
