When was the 1st time 4 ropes were used in a Championship bout?

It was suggested that the William Futrell v Gentleman John Jackson fight in 1788 used ropes but as it is only interpretations of a no longer existing article i am not shure if its seen as the definative answer.

The London Prize ring rules state a ring and ropes so i am guessing befor 1838 as they wouldnt introduce the rule randomly.

For years they used 3 ropes, then they started using 4, when was that?
