I did 2 rounds of sparring with 2 other boys in my gym tonight and i gotta say i am ****ed haha. First two wernt bad cos i was going in sorta fresh and i was taking it easy on this 12/13 year old lad who like me is just starting out and i kept of with the jab at times and then covered up and blocked to give him some practice throwing. Then they stuck the older lad in whose had quite a few bouts and is about 22 and I was doing well for the first minute and then he started hitting me with some body shots that hurt and I was so tired from the last 2 rounds and all the training i just done I found it harder to throw the jab back. Then 2nd round came and i hit him with a few hooks to the body to start off and tried keeping him away with the jab like before but it was a lot harder to do so i tried getting in close and working some body shots and uppercuts like ricky hatton does and it worked! but all in all i ended up getting my ass kicked admittedly. Still tho the trainers thought i did well and a few of the boys in the gym were giving me some praise so woo lol Anyways i was hoping on some tips to help my endurance like ive noticed i bounce a bit to get rhythym going but i think i should stop cos that wastes energy but i meant any diet tips or extra exercises i can do would be much appreciated and if your just gonna take the **** just dont bother posting ok? Cheers anyway
relax , don't bounce up and down all its good for is wasting energy. relax and stay composed. keep running and skipping for cardio and in my opinion the best thing to get you fit for a fight is to spar when you spar you use muscle's that you wouldn't use when doing groundwork, running ,etc all the best:good
Its good to keep a bit of movement so you dont always start off flat footed so to speak, but i agree that sometimes all the effort that goes into the bouncing routine can be over done. Still, its energy consuming and will be a help towards getting fitter as you go all the same. You will get used to 4 rounds of sparring in no time if you do it often enough. Then you will move up to 5,6, rounds.Sparring is fun and teaches you many different things. How to fight is just one of those things:rasta "The journey of a thousand miles starts with just one step".... and you are on your way..
Wicked cheers for the advice like. Only down side is i loves my food.............so thats gonna be hard to cut down on T_T
i disagree i move around and like to keep a bit of movement because when i stop i get hit as i relax too much in sparring im always moving something great post i like food aswell its just discipline i sparred on Thursday this week and i was in against a guy whos 22 64kgs im 15 57kgs. the guy hadnt much experiance but was good and fought real well against me. but first round i made him miss and countered him which really tires peoples out then the 2nd round i just forced the pace but made him work so by the end of the round he was gone
Well thats why I love boxing, its cos of the discipline. it pushes me to my limits and move even further. Now i cant wait to get back in the ring and kick ass :bbb
Moving and keeping on your toes isn't a bad thing at all. Don't abandon that becasue you will regret it, just concentrate on your stamina so that you can constantly move your feet and upper body for 4 rounds during the fight, rather than just abandoning your movement and being rooted to the spot.
Good post. Bouncing around is all about movement, and movement is the only known cure of flat foot disease:dead. Its harder to know just when a punch is going to be peeled off by the other guy when he has the backwards and forwards bouncing stuff going on.... It is possible to go overboard with it though. Doing the bouncy thing from 5 yards away really is just wasting energy. We do skipping to strengthen up the muscles in the legs/feet etc.Skipping has every bit as much to do with keeping you up on your toes, for the benefit of your footwork (bouncing and dancing around) as it does for being a great cardio workout. :hammertime:dance:mj
