what a stupid thing to write, when he fought oscar and hatton before your man manny p. did

  2. 1.4 million PPVs at $49.95 = $69mil
    Gate was estimated at $11mil

Considering that fight was the most promoted and advertised fight of all time, it's safe to assume the marketers, promoters, HBO, etc took at LEAST 50% of that money to cover overhead and line their pockets, which leaves at most $40mil, 65% of which is $26 million.

Not a bad payday by any means, but it ain't 40 and his take was probably a bit lower. Pacquiao made somewhere between 15-20 million against Clottey, a fight promotion which had a significantly lower budget.

That's almost $70m,50% went to HBO. How much was the live gate,Shane's purse and the promoter's cut? There's no way Floyd made $40m.

PPV was $54.95 and although the gate was 11 million, MGM paid around 20 million to host the fight as the site fee with added revenue generated through the various MGM properties in Vegas that weekend.

Mayweather made 30-32 million for the Mosley fight IMO. His guarantee was 22.5 plus PPV percentages. We also don't know if the fighters and their camps make any additional money for being part of 24/7.

the way some of these floyd boys justify floyd ducking pac by pricing himself out of this fight, it seems they all get some kind of percentage. there have been a couple of them thinking it is ok not to see this fight as long as floyd gets more than 50% of share.

What do people say this? They're arguing for a fighter's benefit (To which they think is fair), not for their own benefit. Make no sense.
