    ...and "Kid" always strikes me as an old-timey fighter nickname (like "Fireman" or "Gunboat")...from the days of smokey halls and guys in fedoras...

    So the two conflated together make for an odd mental image.

    A guy walking to the ring in full plate and mail armor, but underneath he's got wool trousers, suspenders, and a newsboy cap. :yep
