Francis Luke Robinson vs. Tony Pace, 4 rounds @ light welterweight

 

Round 1

Pace is moving straight ahead with jabs. Robinson is backed up across the ring, covering up as Pace clubs at him with right hands over the top behind his busy jab. A few counters to the body from Robinson, but he's consistently backed up and caught with a few jabs and a good many right hand chops to the body.

Round 2

Pace is still coming forward and throwing more gross shots, but Robinson is blocking and ducking in rhythm now and stopping to drop down and land some good right hand counters to the body before moving on again. Nice left hook to the body behind a right by Robinson. Pace is lunging high with his jab, getting ducked. Clinch. Accidental rabbit punch by Pace.

Round 2

Pace is forcing the - er, himself again. BIG LEFT HOOK by Pace! Robinson may have been hurt. Robinson beats a hasty retreat, skipping away to his left. Robinson is skirting the ropes, with Pace in hot pursuit. Body shots. Robinson is dipping back against the ropes, sagging a bit with his buttocks resting on them. Pace is just clobbering him with body shots. Robinson is starting to wilt, bending forward with his guard still at his face. BIG left hooks to the body by Pace. Robinson backs up and pokes out a long jab to the body, nothing on it. Pace jumps in and misses a high hook to the head as Robinson ducks and lands a body shot.

Round 4

Pace is slamming inside with overhand rights, cradling his face in his left arm and diving through the sweeping counterattacks of Robinson. Lots of leaning together as Robinson ducks in front of Pace and takes hits to the back of the head. Nice right hand lead by Robinson moving outside. Pace closes the distance again and lands a BIG loud left hook to the body. Robinson is badly hurt by it, backing up to the ropes. Clubbing rights by Robinson while backing up, trying to batter Pace away.
