    Samuel Peter was shot.

Sanders was 38 years old and out of his prime , Larry Donald was 35 years old and out of his prime as well.

    He lost to Chris Byrd.

His only good win is Herbie Hide and he was far away from elite.

I don't disrespect Vitali , he is a great fighter and would give all heavyweights problems.

But he is overrated for sure , his resume is not the best and some people have him as a top 5 heavyweight
ATG , which he is not.

Vitali is probably a top 10 ATG in terms of h2h , his brother Wladimir is certainly a top 10 ATG and more
likely than not a top 5 ATG.

I want to say Wlad but no way would Joshua stop Vitali.

Just don't call all his opponents besides Lennox 'bums'.

Cause then we mainly have 'bums' in HW boxing. I mean, then even top-10 contenders are 'bums'.

Sanders was a very good win and great fight, and Sam Peter was holding WBC belt when Vitali came back after 4 years out of the ring.

Yes Vitali's resume is weak for his abilities.

He never was as interested in making history as his brother Wlad.

Vitali lost probably 4 best years of his career when he retired. Wlad took the whole HW division in his hands at that time.

I wouldn't say Joshua is a stronger puncher vitaly. Most of his wins have been in England with the ref stoppage on their feet. I mean who has he actually one punch kod? He is no one punch ko artist like wlad was or Lennox or Tyson. Overrated power look what wlad did at 26 to a 39 year old Ray iron chin Mercer. He absolutely destroyed the guy.

I have to disagree with you.

Vitali was an accumulation puncher, AJ can turn the fight with 1 shot.

AJ's power is at least 9 on 10 scale, Vitali's probably about 7, especially in his comeback.

Well , 19 opponents will tell you otherwise , you only need to look at the face of Dominic Breazeale to know ,
what kind of power he has.

The referee saved his opponents like it was with Wlad or they would have been badly hurt , he has definitely one punch ko power but he also has a great workrate with his power punches.

Dominic Breazeale has one of the greatest chins in the heavyweight division and he couldn't handle AJs power,he
is definitely a more dangerous puncher than Vitali was.

Wlad landed his left hook many times, that's the punch that changed the entire fight in round 5. He caught Aj jumping in to finish him, the leaping left hooks can't ever be a weapon vs Aj, he's too quick for any leaping anything. Wlad landed quite a few full left hooks even a couple with Aj fully jumping in.

Wlad landed so many clean shots on a very hurt Aj, that straight right should had been the icing on the cake. Too many on here aren't grasping how much Aj took the 5th and 6th, then for Aj to get through the 6th, recover and blast wlad out in the 11th was simply amazing. I encourage fans to watch that fight a couple more times and pay strict attention to how many clean chin breakers both landed.

Simply the greatest hw fight I had ever seen. And yes, this fight was far greater than LL Vit. Maybe if they cotinued and both got second winds going 12 instead of 6 it would take double, literally double what it was to even compare

Agree with this. Vitali COULD punch harder than he usually did if he let his hands fly, but he was all about keeping balance and being in position to counterpunch. He didn't let his stance get out of shape, at the expense of power.

Wlad showed pretty good chin, too.

I mean, in 5th round he took few great shots before going down. And in 18 previous fights, when AJ knocks you down, he then knocks you out seconds later.

And suddenly Wlad turned the fight on his side when I expected that AJ will finish him right there in 5th.

The most dramatic HW fight in many years.

Vitali was more of an arm puncher , Anthony Joshua puts his whole body in his punches and he has a great punching technique.

Wladimir has one of the greatest punching techniques of all time , his jab , left hook and straight right hand
are some of the deadliest weapons in the history of boxing , he also was a better puncher than his brother.

Wlad's leaping hook is not going to work on Joshua.

I was wrong about AJ on one score - he looks big and stiff - but he's anything but easy to land clean shots on and he has the reactions of a cat to slip the loaded-up headshots.

If Wlad does rematch him there's one big thing that he could do to change it around, and that's to get back his beautiful snapping jab. Wlad was trying to land powershots and it's clear that AJ is simply too quick for them. But when Wlad did throw a sharp straight jab down the pipe he landed it several times. He needs to get rid of his outstretched pawing jab and go back to the snappy one and set his shots up properly.

I think Joshua might just be the future of boxing. This win has done a lot to cement his place imho.

    Vitali for sure.

He'd take shots to land his own.

He was super tough and super confident.

If Wlad possessed those 2 attributes of his, he'd have been just about unstoppable.

Vitali was always the more formidable HW.

Vit. He was still looking very sharp against Charr at 41. Granted that was Charr, but at the end of the first round there was a sequence of dodges from Vit like out of the Matrix. Wlads reaction were never at that level, let alone at 41.

And, as others have said, Vit had the chin, size, confidence and aggression to press the fight. Barring an unlikely ko punch, Vit grinds down and stops Wlad much earlier than he normally does, just because he'd be more aggressive due to Wlad's size and power.

He wouldn't have outboxed him easily, because he'd have been so damn cautious.

Vitali would have walked forward with confidence.

He was physically and mentally stronger.
