41 year old version, read it again and he could have knocked him out with his one punch ko power, if he would
    have is another question.

Because Joshua was inexperienced with question marks over his chin and his stamina.

Look, before we all go any further, we need to clarify whether or not they'd have fought against each other in real time as actual brothers.

Are we pretending that they weren't related, and that we're putting them together with no emotion involved, just looking purely at their skills?

Or are we pretending that their family had given authorisation for them to fight?

That may sound silly, but believe me, it makes a huge difference here. Because Wlad idolises Vitali, and he's alway looked up to him his whole life. So believe me, if this had been a real fight, Wlad would have been ultra cautious and respectful, knowing full well that Vitali was tougher than him. And that would have shown in the ring.

We are pretending that they weren't related, so both would give all they have.

    Bingo.

Too many people are overlooking the huge psychological advantage that Vitali would have held over him. And that would have had a huge impact on his game plan/performance in the ring.

You've got to be a fool if you think he'd have fought his own big brother in the manner he fought at Wembley.

Of course, they would never fight against eachother, but this is only theoretical, we should ignore that they are
brothers and pretending that they would fight like they did against their other opponents.

You have to view any match up minus all the family ties and psychology of that. Of course Wlad must have idolised his brother. The dude was his inspiration, no doubt, and Wlad always said Vitali was better than him.

    Vitali is the better fighter.
Wlad has better skills but his older brother trumps him on lots of intangible qualities.

    Okin129,

In this H2H fight, it makes no difference to me whether or not Wlad would have iced Chisora.

How on earth was Wlad always the more dominant looking fighter?

He was taken out by 3 non great fighters in his 20's, and he went life and death with Peter.

Do you mean in general, or his victories?

Wlad's great, but he's always been vulnerable. Also: He's been psychologically scarred from those early defeats.

    Dominate?

It was a battle of 2 guys who were extremely cautious of each other. Both Wlad and Haye are mentally weak.

Vitali wouldn't have given Haye the respect that Wlad did, and I can't even envisage a scenario where Haye would've beaten Vitali. I think Vitali would have done a complete psyche job on him.

As the punch caused the cut, Lennox legitimately beat him. However, Vitali was very unlucky. He wanted to fight on, he was up on the cards, and Lennox wouldn't give him a rematch.

Okay, we need to know if we're all on the same page though.

I think Vitali would have beaten him regardless, but if they'd fought as brothers, that would have given Vitali a huge advantage.

    Vitali's strengths over Wlad:
    Reflexes
    Chin
    Size
Volume punching and diversity of punches
    Aggression
    Wlad's strengths over Vitali:
    Power
    Technical precision
    Foot speed

Vitali's would win the day in this matchup.

I'm a huge Wlad fan but yes.. Vitali would have beaten him. Vitali with that granite chin would have survived his brothers best onslaught (MAYBE getting dropped for the first time) and wore him out with his volume and good pop. A late TKO I think.

    Vitali was a different animal.

He was great at making people miss and making people pay, if that's not a skill I don't know what is.
