I very much agree with this, with two caveats:

    1) 41 year old Vitali was starting to fall apart from wear and tear whereas 41 year old Wlad looks great
    2) If there was one fighter with the power and precision to crack Vitali's otherwise uncrackable chin, it's Wlad.

I'm glad they never fought each other. There's something honourable about drawing a line in the sand and saying "this is where I stop" - and sticking to it.

Those are great points, and you have to give credit to Wlad for his great longevity.

I do respect him a lot. But I've always believed that his career would have played out very differently if Vitali hadn't had those injuries.

41 WK looked infinitely better than 41 VK. And he looked better against an infinitely better opponent.

Without the cut Cha would have taken Vitali the distance. Wlad boxing like he did against AJ lays Cha out cold after a couple of rounds.

Everybody who voted for Vitali hasn't seen him fight at 41 years old, we are not talking about prime, this is
    another question.

The Wladimir from the fight with AJ would beat the Vitali from the fight with Chisora or Charr, Wladimir is not
41 years old biologically, he is still in his mid-thirties, he is an exceptional athlete.

This. Vits was looking shopworn in his last few fights. Wladimir has preserved himself beautifully.

The only one advantage Vitali has ever had over WK is punch resistance & chin. WK is the better athlete, more powerful, better arsenal, better resume & less injury prone..

Take RJJ & Toney.. Toney is more durable, so what? Not that the Klitschklos are as good as RJJ but just highlighting a point..

Wladimir WAY too gun shy. Vitali slaps him around with ease and nearly doubles him up on punches thrown and landed.

    The advantages Vitali held were:

    A better chin.

    Mental strength.

They were two huge advantages. His mental strength and toughness intimidated fighters, and it enabled him to be more confident and aggressive.

You say that Wlad had a better arsenal of punches. And whilst I wouldn't disagree, you have to note that his cautiousness often restricted his full repertoire.

    I don't think so.

If he'd have beaten him, it would more than likely have been a cautious U/D.
