Daniel Martinez vs. Aaron Acevedo, 4 rounds @ super featherweight

 

Note: Boxrec has the WRONG guy listed as fighting Acevedo tonight.

Round 1

Martinez starts the round well, putting straight shots in against Acevedo with good location and speed. Unfortunately Acevedo takes all his best and then takes his own turn, slamming Martinez with uppercuts. Martinez is pushed to the ropes and pinned there under fire. Martinez can't get free, trying to counter with straights but Acevedo is just tearing up the body with wide uppercuts and Martinez has nowhere to go and no answer for them but to lean back against the ropes covering up and getting rocked around.

He has a whole two minutes of professional experience on Martinez.

 

Round 2

Acevedo pushes Martinez to the ropes again, uppers to the body and the head when it's exposed. Martinez is trying to push out his 1-2 to knock Acevedo back but can't hold him off. Martinez is looking flustered, not landing his shots well. Martinez using a lot of movement, dipping and swaying on the outside, kicking his legs out behind himself, rolling his gloves around. Martinez trying to box from distance, pumping jabs into Acevedo's guard.
